Darkest Dungeon has always been a game that could inspire some of our most colorful language with challenging enemies and creatively devious encounters. Its sequel was recently released in Early Access and is carrying that torch forward.

Here is everything you need to know about the game after the early access has been made available –

RELEASE DATE, EARLY ACCESS AND PLATFORMS

Darkest Dungeons 2 Multiplayer Mode

To be honest, we do not have an official release date of Darkest Dungeon 2: Road of Ruin as of now. And the developers, The Red Hood Studios have not come up with any specific release date as of yet. But that is not a thing to be worried about or disappointed since the game is already up as an easy access release.

Yes, the early access of Darkest Dungeon 2: Road of Ruin has been released on 26 October 2021. Currently, it is available for PC users only via the Epic Games Store. But upon the release in full access, the game will be available for PC as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch. The best part is that those who buy the early access from the Epic Games Store will not have to pay another penny after the full launch of the game.

But does this apply to PC users only? Let us see.

DARKEST DUNGEONS ENDING – RELATION WITH PART II EXPLAINED

The ending of Darkest Dungeon has us the heir realizing that we can’t end the nightmare that is the Old God, we will forever be locked in a loop as we keep feeding the Heart of Darkness as it is the definition of existence, a being that exists outside of what we know to be the truth.

This means that the Darkest Dungeon 2: Road of Ruin will continue from where we left off in the previous version, where we were left off to try and find some way out of the endless dark fate that lies ahead of us.

Darkest Dungeons 2 Multiplayer Mode

According to the developers, the story goes on like this,

The corruption defeated at the Estate is found to be only a symptom of a far greater evil that is already on the verge of ending the world. As madness consumes everyone, and apocalyptic cults and monsters spread chaos and decadence, the player and their party of heroes must journey to a distant, foreboding mountain to avert the end of the world.

HOW WILL THE GRAPHICS IN THE DARKEST DUNGEONS 2 BE?

We know that the Red Hood Studios have changed the game engine for this game to the ever-favorite Unity Engine. This means that we are going to get slight updates to the visuals as compared to what we had in the previous game. It will still keep the dark gothic aesthetics that we’ve all come to know and love but it will feature 3D environments this time.

There will be some people who will be concerned about the game’s amazing 2D graphics visuals. The good to know fact is that both the characters and the combat will continue having their 2D visuals in this second version too!

WILL DARKEST DUNGEONS 2 HAVE MULTIPLAYER MODE?

This one is a frequently asked question right now. But to be honest, we do not know if the game will have a multiplayer mode. According to some leaks, it is not something the devs are working on.

But the game was planned to be first released in early access when around 60% of the content would be finished, and it is done. Multiplayer may be an option once the single-player content is considered satisfactory.

Given the fact that we had the multiplayer mode in the first version, having the same in part II is a big possibility as well.
