Dinkum is a survival/role-playing game set on an island. It is inspired by Animal Crossing and the setting of the game is in the Australian Outback. It is a simple game and is still in early access on Steam. In this game, you can be anything you want. There are multiple occupations in the game ranging from farming, and hunting to deep cave mining and resource gathering. In addition to this, the game lets you purchase permits and craft equipment that will help your profession of choice. You can also choose to participate in more than 1 profession at the same time. For miners in this game, deeper cave mining will net you significant rewards in the form of rare resources and gemstones. In this article, we are going to be taking a look at Dinkum: How to get Rubies.
Rubies are some of the most precious resources in Dinkum. They can sell for a lot of in-game currency and are equally hard to find. Due to this, they are considered an end-game resource over an early game find. In fact, they are so rare, that you cannot find them on the surface of your island at all. To find rubies, you will need to mine down deep and harvest them manually from there.
Dinkum: How to get Rubies?
Rubies are a late-game resource. They are among some of the most precious resources in the game. When mined and collected, they can sell for a lot of Dinks (in-game currency is called Dinks). Unfortunately, they are difficult to mine and require a lot of grinding to be prepared for. They can only be found in very deep mine shafts but as mentioned before, getting there is an ordeal in itself.
In order to mine rubies, you will need a Deep Mining License and the Mining Pass from Fletch and John respectively. These are very difficult to acquire due to the cost of Dinks and Permit Points. However, supposing you have already acquired this, you can begin the process of mining rubies. Building the Deep Mine will take about one day and a lot of Dinks. After this, you can enter the Deep Mine and look for rubies.
Once all these steps are completed and you are in the Deep Mines, look for a red shimmer in the walls. This is a good indication that the shimmer is from a ruby vent. It will take 2 hits from a pickaxe to mine it. It cannot be put in your pocket so you will have to carry them to the mine elevator manually. This process seems simple but there are a lot of enemies in the Deep Mines and finding red shimmers from ruby veins is not too common. This is the basic gist of how to find rubies in Dinkum.
