Dinkum How to get Flake

As the game takes inspiration from Australia and features one of the significant real-life locations called Outback, there are various terms and acronyms as well that are common in Australia. For those who’re wondering what Flake means by Dinkum, it is another word for Shark meat, both fried and battered that is easily available in real-life shops in Australia and in-game. There are NPCs in Dinkum that often give players the quest to fetch Flake and deliver it to them so it is another reason for you to obtain it.

How to get Flake in Dinkum?

Flake as you might have guessed can only be acquired by hunting Sharks and killing them. The game will fetch you Flake after landing the final blow on the creature. Similar to real life, sharks are not to be underestimated as they are undoubtedly some of the toughest fish that you’ll encounter in the game. However, the reward outweighs the risk as their meat A.K.A Flake is very delicious if used as a cooking ingredient, and has a high value if sold to John. The usual places where they reside are oceans and sometimes rivers so don’t be surprised if you come across one when you’re out exploring the waters.

Killing them is easy if you know what you are doing, all you need to do is watch out for their bite attacks and use weapons with more range like Spear to slowly deal damage. It’ll take some time until you’ve damaged them enough when they’ll try to retreat back into the water so make sure to land a few more hits. We have compiled a guide that’s exactly made for killing sharks that you can check out here. You’ll be rewarded with 3 Flake once you’ve put down the fish. Well, if they’ve fallen into the sea, you can dive down and pick them up.
