Destiny 2 was released throughout 2017 for different platforms, with the game releasing for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6, 2017, and then it was released for PC on October 24, 2017. Destiny 2 was an international success and became a very high revenue generator for Bungie Studio, and was later also ported to Microsoft cloud gaming system, Stadia on November 19, 2019. The game was nominated and won many awards such as The Game Awards 2017, Game Critics Awards. Fans of the Destiny game have wondered when they will receive the 3rd instalment of the Destiny series, Destiny 3, for which we have news that was announced by the developers themselves regarding the future of the Destiny series.
To not beat around the bush for too long, Destiny 3 will not be released anytime soon or well it may never be released, as a developer of the game stated that they don’t wish to start over from scratch and build an entire sequel, as they wish to continue to support Destiny 2 and the work and manpower which would go into the making of a new game would take all of the attention away from Destiny 2 and hence lead them to stop supporting the game.
However, as many know within the Destiny community that there is an entire list of content that has been planned to be released for Destiny 2, with February 22, 2022, seeing the release of Destiny 2 The Witch Queen, and Destiny 2 Lightfall is also coming sometime in 2022 or 2023.
Hence, we can say that Destiny 3 is not going to be released anytime soon, and since there is absolutely no information or any hint of a new title, then we would suggest not living with false hope, as the General manager Mark Noseworthy stated that they would be bringing a lot of new content to Destiny 2, it’s said to be like assembling the greatest hits of Destiny all along also updating those activities for modern standard and systems.
