Dead By Daylight (DBD) is a very unique take on a multiplayer game. You’re pitted against another team with 4 players on one side and just 1 player on the other. The 4 players play the role of survivors whereas, the single player plays the role of the killer. DBD is loved by fans all around the globe, but that doesn’t mean it’s not full of issues. Unbalanced roles, an inconsistent ranking system, server issues, poor matchmaking and this is just the tip of the Iceberg, we can go all day. But, today we are here to address one issue in particular.
Players have recently been reporting that they are unable to find a match as a killer in Dead by Daylight. Now, everything is up to speculation cause there has been no official word from the devs. This could be a bug but either way, we’ve assembled a list of fixes for you guys today. So, let’s get into it.
Dead by Daylight not finding a match as killer: Fixes & Workarounds
The first thing we’re going to do is check for server status. We need to make sure that the game’s servers are up before we can go any further. A quick google search or a visit to the game’s official website should tell you all you need to know. And if the servers are down, just wait for them to go back to normal and try again.
Restart the game
There is nothing more powerful than a simple restart, and to start off our list of fixes we’re going to be relying on the powers of a simple restart. Quit out of your game, end all processes related to DBD and launch it again. If your issue hasn’t been fixed, Continue reading.
Verify Game Files
This error can occur due to missing or corrupted game files. So, to take care of them we’re going to have to verify our game files. Here’s how you can do it:
Go to your Steam Library
Look for DBD
Go to properties
Click on Local Game Files
Click on Verify Game Files
Wait for the process to finish and try again
For Epic Games:
Go to your game library
Click on the three dots besides DBD
Click on the Verify, in the drop-down navigation menu that’s before you
Wait for the process to finish and relaunch your game.
Your issue should now be fixed.
