Speculations regarding the valve’s Source 2 engine release for CSGO are gaining more attention lately. A few days earlier, it was leaked that CSGO source 2 will be released on May 18, but according to the valve news network’s twitch stream, the engine might release earlier than we are thinking.
Tyler for Valve News Network revealed a lot more details about the Source 2 engine in his recent twitch stream.
He said that the game won’t look better in graphics. CSGO will run better due to the engine being more multi-threaded and probable Vulkan support.
Like Dota 2, CSGO might receive open beta for a few months before the full release. Tyler also talked about the possibility of separate matchmaking for the Source 2 open beta. He also mentioned the possibility of remake of some famous maps.
While comparing code 2 with 1, Tyler said CSGO Source 2 might be the worst version of the current version. He compared it with the release of R8. For those who are unaware, R8 was the most powerful weapon at the time of release. It had the ability to kill enemies in one shot from any distance similar to AWP.
On the Source 2 Release Date, Tyler said: “I’ve heard it from a few trusted people, that it’s sooner rather than later and could be as soon as f**king today.”
From Tyler’s words, it looks like Source 2 is releasing very soon maybe in one or two days, but it won’t bring some massive changes.
