COD Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Small Gun Scope Bug: Is there any fix yet

Call of Duty MW3 is yet another massive addition to the already popular series. Well, as such, gunplay mechanics are by far the most crucial part of the game. However, in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, players are facing bugs related to their guns. Many players have reported facing the small gun scope bug while in-game. This bug causes the field of view (FOV) of the gun scope to appear abnormally small. In turn, it dampens the whole gameplay experience and has been frustrating players for quite some time. Well, if you too are encountering the same, consider reading this guide to know whether there is a fix for this issue yet.

The Call of Duty series is famous for its intense battle experience. It is regarded as the top-tier ongoing series in the world of games. Well, with better graphics and exceptional features, COD MW3 is currently the face of the COD franchise. Being newly released, players are currently encountering countless bugs in the game. One such bug is the small gun scope bug, which is frustrating many.

Reddit forums are filled with players complaining about this issue. However, there have been no words from the developers acknowledging it, so an official fix is going to take some time (if released). Well, until the developers notice and fix the Small Gun Scope Bug in COD MW3, you can try the workarounds listed to deal with this bug.

Change the Settings

Some players have reported that their in-game field of view (FOV) was set to small. This can lead to the small gun scope bug being triggered. So, to fix it, follow the given steps:

  • Open COD MW3, and head over to the Settings menu.
  • After this, navigate to the Graphics tab.
  • Locate the FOV option, then press “Show More”.
  • Next, change your gun’s FOV to Default or Wide.

Doing so should fix the bug in-game. If not, try the next workaround.

Try using a different gun/optic

If the issue persists, you can switch to a different gun and a different optic to check if the issue persists. For example, if you are facing the issue while using the red dot sight equipped with a particular gun, switch to the iron sight and check if the same bug occurs. If it does, try using a different gun.

Remove Camo skin and go to the Firing range

A fellow Redditor has used a certain workaround to get rid of this bug. This has worked for a few players as well. For this workaround, you have to remove the camo from your weapon. After that, visit the Firing Range. This will ensure that the scope and weapon mechanics are working properly, potentially fixing the bug.

Restart the Game

If none of the above workarounds work, then you can try restarting the game, and checking again if the issue persists. Although this is a temporary workaround for the issue, it can still prove effective.

Anyway, that is about everything you can do to fix the small gun scope bug in COD MW3. If the issue persists, be patient for an official fix. You can keep visiting the COD Official Page for more updates. Well, we hope that the mentioned workarounds helped you resolve the bug.
