Here are the required steps –

1. The first step is that you have to launch the game and go to the home screen.
2. In the game’s home screen, you have to go to the Weapons tab. After doing so, you have to go to the Multiplayer Loadout.
3. Then, you have to go to your custom loadouts and switch over to the Field Upgrades tab. Here, you have to equip the Smoke AirDrop from the list of all the different field upgrades.
4. Now, you have to go into any of the different game modes and start a match. Likewise, you can use the field upgrade during a match.
5. You have to then press L1 and R1 together in order to use the AirDrop field upgrade. Do note that you will need to get kills in a match to fill up the meter to use a field upgrade. 
6. After pressing the L1 and R1, you can see the map from an overhead view. You have to now use the right thumbstick to move around and position your airdrop.
7. After confirming the position or area of the map where you want to deploy this field upgrade, you can now blanket that area of the map in smoke.
