Chivalry 2 missing voice chat feature is requested by fans

Chivalry 2 is the sequel to the cult classic Chivalry: Medieval Warfare of 2012 and was released on June 8th, 2021 for Windows, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, keeping the spirit of the hack and slash alive, while also adding in a host of new features, including the much-anticipated horseback riding, as well as the significantly larger 64 player lobbies but to many fans’ anguish, the ability to actually communicate with your teammates in these larger lobbies via an in-game voice chat feature was not provided by the developers, Torn Banner Studios.

There has been no official comment so far from Torn Banner on whether or not the feature is being considered for addition into Chivalry 2, but fans on the official Torn Banner Studios forums have been discussing it, which means for certain that someone at Torn Banner has seen it or will see it at some point, and hopefully provide us with an answer.

It is not as though the entire player base of the game is at a consensus when it comes to the addition of the voice chat feature to Chivalry 2, since a discussion post on the Torn Banner forums from user Elite Team Killer puts it, “Are you mad? You have all the voices you need with the voice overs, including all the s***-talking you could dream of. “Your parents, are they siblings?” “Your wife is a hobby horse.” “You are a lump of foul deformity.” “Well my, aren’t you handsome, best not turn my back on you.”What more do you need? I swear to got [sic] if there is voice chat in Chivalry 2 I will use voice to spam impersonations of the Chivalry voice-overs.”

Indeed, the fact that Torn Banner provided each player with a wide range of quips ad insults to throw at their opponents could be the reason behind the voice chat feature being missing from the game, and could well be the reason behind it never coming to the game either. At the end of the day, all we can do is speculate until we get any form of confirmation from Torn Banner themselves.
