Atlas Fallen happens to be the latest title from Deck13, the makers behind popular Souls-like games Lords of the Fallen and The Surge series. But unlike those games, Atlas Fallen isn’t souls-like. Deck13 instead decided to make the game an Action-RPG title akin to the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War. Published by Focus Entertainment, the game saw its official release on August 10, 2023, for Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and the PlayStation 5 platform. The main draw of this title seems to be its combat, something that Deck13 has more or less achieved mastery over. And judging by the reviews of the game, both critics and fans are loving the spectacular combat of the game. However, this is also where the game fumbles. While Atlas Fallen certainly has an excellent combat system, other aspects of the game are quite subpar. It has been highly criticized for its mediocre storyline, not-so-good voice acting, and serviceable sound design. It’s because of all this that it has received a mixed reaction from critics and the general audience. However, the game is still an enjoyable “mess”. That said, one thing that has been bugging many players is Atlas Fallen’s offline playability.
The reason why so many players push for offline play is because of the lack of a proper and constant internet connection. Plus, having to play single-player games by connecting to the internet is an absurd requirement. They are called single-player games for a reason. So, what about Atlas Fallen? Can it be played offline without an internet connection? Let’s find out!
Can you play Atlas Fallen offline without an Internet Connection?
Players will be happy to know that Atlas Fallen can be enjoyed offline, without the need for any kind of internet connection. On a Steam Post dated March 7, 2023, a player asked if the game could be played offline. A developer from Deck13 stated in the same post: “Atlas Fallen is designed as a single-player game and offers an optional coop mode. So you can play it offline like any other single-player game on Steam.” So there you have it. You don’t need to be online to play the game.
Most of what you would be doing in Atlas Fallen is hunting legendary creatures and exploring the expansive open world of the game. So it would be quite redundant to make the game online only. Plus, it has no PvP. So, it makes sense that Deck13 would choose to include offline play in their latest game. As stated above, the game does offer optional co-op if you want to enjoy the game with friends and family. But if you just want to play the game alone/solo, you have the choice to do that without having to rely on an internet connection.
