Multiplayer games like Call of Duty Warzone 2 rely heavily on team communication over voice chat or text chat. Although it is essential for strategic communication during matches, some players may want to mute players. Likewise, it is possible to mute players to reduce distraction during matches. Here are the required steps –

  • The first step is to launch the game and go into a multiplayer lobby.
  • Next up, you have to press the R key on your keyboard or press the L2 button on your controller when matching up in the Battle Royale lobby. Doing this can mute or unmute all players in the lobby.
  • Then, you can press down on the touchpad of your controller to bring up the map as well as the scoreboard window. Likewise, you have to press the right D-pad to go to the scoreboard. Here, you have to select one of the players’ names that you want to mute.
  • After selecting the name of a player, you have to press the X button on your controller to mute that player.
  • You can also bring up the Options menu in the game and press the R1 button to see the Voice Chat Channels. Here, you have to go into the Game Channels and find the players that you want to mute. In this menu, you can press the triangle button to bring up an option to switch Game Voice Channel from All Lobby to Party Only, Friends Only, or Friends & Channels.
  • Now, you can also go to Audio in Settings and scroll down to the Voice Chat section. Here, you have to turn off the Proximity Chat option. Likewise, you can scroll down and set the Game Voice Channel to Friends Only or Party Only.
