Best Tekken 8 Rog Ally Settings for High FPS & performance

The Tekken franchise, renowned for its intense martial arts battles and iconic characters, has evolved with the arrival of Tekken 8. Now, the thrill of the fight isn’t confined to your living room; the ROG Ally allows you to take action on the go. However, to truly harness the potential of Tekken 8 and ensure an unparalleled gaming experience, it’s essential to fine-tune your settings. In this guide, we’ll explore the optimal ROG Ally settings to maximize FPS and performance in Tekken 8, ensuring you’re ready to dominate the virtual arena wherever you go. Let’s dive in!

In the portable console gaming space, the ROG Ally has emerged as a competition, challenging the dominance of the Steam Deck. As players seek the freedom to carry their gaming experiences in their pockets, devices like the ROG Ally are turning heads with their specifications and performance capabilities. That being said, while we have already covered the best settings to play Tekken 8 on the Steam Deck, we don’t want players who own the ROG Ally to feel left out. So, let’s find out how you can achieve peak performance on the ROG Ally to get an edge over your opponents during intense fights.

While the settings may be a bit different for different players, we believe that for optimal performance and visual quality, the recommended settings are listed below.

  • Screen Mode: Full Screen
  • Resolution: 1,280 × 800
  • V–Sync: Off
  • Variable Rate Shading: Off
  • Rendering Quality Preset: High
  • Rendering Scale: 80
  • Upscaling: AMD FSR 1.0
  • Anti-Aliasing Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: High
  • Texture Quality: High
  • Effect Quality: High
  • Post-Processing Quality: High
  • Background Quality: High
  • Measure/Display FPS: Off

Note: If you are noticing frame rate drops with High settings, you can also switch to Medium. Additionally, turning off FSR altogether might also help increase performance for some.

Other settings?

Playing Tekken 8 at 15 watts helps save your battery and still offers a good-looking experience. When set to medium settings, you get a consistent 60 FPS, which is essential for precise timing in fights. If you crank it up to 50 watts, the game looks stunning with medium settings and maintains 60 FPS, albeit with some minor drops. For a rock-solid 60 FPS all the time, opt for 30 or 25 watts when your ROG Ally is plugged in. In performance mode, choose 800p with medium settings for smooth gameplay. However, if you prefer a more visually appealing experience, go for high graphics at 800p or 900p. We also recommend turning off FidelityFX Super Resolution  (FSR) to enhance the overall smoothness. Running Tekken 8 at 25 or 30 watts ensures a steady FPS with high graphics, providing an immersive gaming experience. Even at 15 watts, the game remains playable, hovering between 40 and 50 FPS.

Keep the drivers up-to-date

Finally, if you are experiencing jitters and lags while running the game with these settings, perhaps you need to update the drivers first. Keeping the drivers up-to-date is crucial for optimal performance and compatibility. Updated drivers ensure that your hardware communicates effectively with your system, enhancing stability and resolving potential issues. Therefore, regularly checking for driver updates and installing them can lead to a smoother and more efficient experience.

We hope you were able to play Tekken 8 on the Rog Ally with the best possible graphics and frame rate after applying these settings. Anyway, that brings us to the end of this guide.
