So, without wasting any more time, let’s focus on how to solve the Defiled Temple Moon puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Solve the Defiled Temple Moon Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3?
In order to access the Defiled Temple Moon puzzle, you first need to get to the Defiled Temple area. You can locate the Defiled Temple in the Goblin Camp. You’d need to face the Goblin priestess, however, when you’re on your way to the temple. Now, you can always engage in battle and try to take down the priestess and her Ogre bodyguard. If you don’t want to engage in battle, however, then you can sneak past her quarters. Playing with a character with a high dexterity check might be helpful if you want to sneak past the quarters.
Following this, once you have passed the Priestess’ quarters, keep moving forward. You’ll find yourself standing in front of a huge door in no time. This door will have a pattern inscribed on it, which consists of a pair of eyes at the center of a circle of stars. Open this door and move inside. You will then come across the moon dials, which are the stone discs on the ground. Now, for your understanding, we will call the disc that’s closest to the broken statue by the plinth the top dial. Here are the combinations you can try to solve the puzzle and open the gate to the Underdark.
Note: You need to make sure that the full moons are placed on the top dial, half moons are placed on the side dials, and the empty/no moons are placed on the bottom dials.
- First, try the following combination: Rotate the top dial once > the left dial once > the right dial twice > the bottom dial thrice > the left dial twice. If it doesn’t work, re-roll the puzzle and try the next combination.
- Rotate the top dial once > the left dial thrice > the bottom dial once > the left dial twice > the right dial twice > the bottom dial once > the right dial twice.
- Alternatively, try this combination: Rotate the top dial twice > the right dial once > the top dial thrice > the left dial thrice > the bottom dial thrice > the left dial twice.
By trying either of these three combinations, you should be able to solve the Defiled Temple Moon puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3. Hopefully, you can now solve the puzzle and access the Underdark Biome using our guide.
