With Assassin’s Creed: Mirage finally out, fans can once again experience the intricacies and fun of the original Assassin’s Creed trilogy. The shift to action RPGs was inevitable, but it also changed a lot for the long-running series. So much so that fans had started to complain about the newer titles being Assassin’s Creed in the name only and not the gameplay. AC Mirage is Ubisoft giving those players what they wanted—a proper action-adventure Assassin’s Creed game. And while AC Mirage is a good enough title, it does suffer from some bugs and issues. A major one is the Jailbreak quest bug that players have been complaining about.
At least according to what the players are reporting, the bug usually occurs around the mercenaries. While they are supposed to engage with the prison guard to serve as a distraction after being offered a Power Favor token, due to this bug, they simply don’t move at all and remain stationary. This is not ideal since, without their help, infiltrating the prison and liberating Ali can be quite a hard task. So, is there a fix for this? Continue reading to find out!
Assassin’s Creed (AC) Mirage Jailbreak quest bug: Is there any fix yet
You can try using the following workarounds for now, as Ubisoft has yet to release an official fix for the issue.
Restart –
Let’s start the fixing process by trying out the restart method first. You don’t have to do much in this one. Just restart the game and see if you still encounter bugs with that particular quest. You can also try restarting your PC or console if performing a restart of the game doesn’t yield any results.
Reload a previous save –
One of the main benefits of playing single-player games is that you can pretty much go back to any point in the stage or story, provided you have a save available. We recommend you load a save, preferably the one closest to your current save, before the quest starts. After loading it, proceed with the quest, pay the token to the mercenaries, and check whether they distract the guards.
Take the merchant’s help –
As stated earlier, there are two ways to get inside the prison. One is, of course, the mercenary one, and the other is through the merchant’s help. In case the mercenary route doesn’t work, we suggest you try the merchant route. Do note that you will need a Merchant Favor token in order to employ the merchant’s help. As for the merchant’s location, go towards the left of the prison near the stairs, where the NPC is located. He will then show you the secret passage to the prison. If you don’t have the Merchant Favor token, you can find the passage yourself if you observe the walls carefully.
Go Guns Blazing –
If the bug persists even after trying all the workarounds, then all there’s left to do is take the fight head-on. Instead of sneaking into the area, engage in a battle with the guards and proceed to kill all of them until the area is clear. After this, you can continue with the quest as usual.
Verify game files –
Repairing game files has done wonders for many players when it comes to dealing with issues related not only to AC Mirage but to other games too. So, you can try the same here as well.
Epic Games Launcher –
- Launch the Epic Games Launcher and in the left side panel, you will see Library. Click on it.
- Now, select the three dots on the AC Mirage tile, and select Manage > Verify.
- Start the game once the process is complete.
Ubisoft Connect –
- Open Ubisoft Connect and click on the Games tab.
- Next, right-click on AC Mirage and select the Verify files option.
- After the verification process is over, launch AC Mirage.
