ARK Survival Ascended unofficial servers not showing up: How to fix it

Ark: Survival Ascended is the remake of the massively popular action-adventure survival title Ark: Survival Evolved. Released as an early access title for Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, the game hasn’t really clicked with its player base, mostly due to the enormous amounts of bugs that continue to affect it. Furthermore, recently, a lot of players have reported an issue where unofficial servers simply don’t show up in the server list. So, if you too are encountering the same, here’s everything you need to know about fixing this issue for good.

This isn’t really a new issue, as Ark: Survival Ascended players have faced it in the past. As such, there are some workarounds that could possibly fix it. Previously, the issue had occurred due to updates not deploying or because of client-server mismatch error. So, what can be done to bypass this problem now? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.

You can try the following methods to deal with this issue. Check these out and see if any of them are of help to you.

Start a single-player game and add Ark.UseServerList 0 in Console Command –

This one is a somewhat old workaround. As such, it might or might not work for you. Basically, what you need to do is start a single-player game and then head to Settings. Now, make sure that the Console Command option is selected, switch back to the game, and add Ark.UseServerList 0 in the console command. After this, the servers should now show up in the server list. If you don’t want to join a single-player game, simply press the ~ key on your keyboard to bring up the console command, and then type “Ark.UseServerList 0”. This should give similar results.

Manually change your game language –

Yes, this is indeed a pretty strange workaround, but it seemed to have worked for some players, so you can give it a try. For this, first, you should open the game’s GameUserSettings.ini file in a text editor and add the following line:

[Internationalization]
Culture=en

Next, find your server’s GameUserSettiings.ini file and do the same with it. Now, you should be able to look for your servers. Also, if you happen to have a Password Protected Server, you should make sure that you have checkmarked the Password Protected Server option in the search options.

Check the “Show Player Servers” option –

In the past, a common cause for this issue has been the ‘Show Player Servers’ option. Make sure that this particular option is not unchecked. If it is, checkmark it and that should fix this particular issue.

Reinstall your game –

Sometimes client-server mismatches can also cause an issue like this one to arise. The fix for that is to simply reinstall ASA. So, do that and check if that helps in fixing this issue.

Delete certain folders –

One player was able to bypass this issue by using this particular method. Essentially, what you need to do is reinstall the game and then clear the Steam cache. Following that, you should head over to this path: ASA > ShooterGame > Saved. Now, delete everything inside the Saved folder. This will delete your progress, but it should make your unofficial servers pop up in the list.

For now, these are all the workarounds we have for this issue. You can also take a quick look here if you want to know how to enable the FPS tracker in the game. And for more such interesting content, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: ARK Ascended Dino wipe command details
