Ark: Survival Evolved’s remake, Ark: Survival Ascended, saw its official release on October 25, 2023, and is available for PC right now. In true Studio Wildcard fashion, the game suffers from major optimization issues, which have certainly made lots of players disappointed with the release. There’s just no shortage of bugs and errors in ASA, and this guide in particular will be dealing with one of them. The Dino Disappearing/Floating bug, to be exact.
Well, as the name here suggests, players seem to be encountering a lot of floating or disappearing dinos. There are instances where players have found their tamed dinos disappear randomly. It’s mostly affecting dedicated server players, but there are reports of the same thing happening on single-player too. Now, while this bug might not be higher on the priority list, it still needs to be dealt with somehow. So, is there a fix yet? Continue reading to find out!
Ark Survival Ascended (ASA) Dino Disappearing/Floating Bug: Is there any fix yet
For now, players will have to use the following workarounds, as Studio Wildcard has yet to acknowledge this issue. Follow these carefully, and make sure to try each of them thoroughly.
Restart –
When facing this type of bug, you should start by restarting the game, and if that doesn’t work, restart the PC itself. It’s a pretty common method for dealing with bugs, so try it. Now, we aren’t sure if this will completely work or not, so if the issue persists, try the next workaround.
Check the auto tracer app –
In ASA, you get an auto-tracer app in your inventory tab, so you should go ahead and check there. It shows all the dinosaurs in your tribe and could help with locating the dino that have disappeared.
Keep your dinos inside –
It seems like many dinos, especially baby ones, are floating up, and the only way to stop them from reaching the sky is to keep them inside a structure. The most important thing here is that you need to have a roof so that the floating can be stopped.
Remove mods –
Mostly, such issues can arise if there are too many mods or incompatible mods installed in the game. So, the sensible step should be to remove the active mods from the game and then try again.
Refrain from joining or restarting your dedicated servers –
Ark players have found out that restarting a dedicated server tends to make dinos disappear. So, if you happen to be hosting a dedicated server, refrain from restating it if possible. We know at some point you will have to do that, so hold on for a while, at least until Wildcard releases a patch addressing this issue.
Repair game files –
Chances are that ASA happens to have some of its files either missing or corrupted. In such cases, the only way to deal with them is to simply repair those files. And since ASA is only available on Steam at the moment, you will have to click on Library and right-click on the game. Now, just select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Once the verification process is over, restart your PC.
If you have your dinos back, then why not learn more about the new Ping system in the game? And as always, don’t forget to follow DigiStatement. Also read: Ark Survival Ascended (ASA) Inventory Bug troubling players: Is there any fix yet
