So far, the game’s officials have not provided a definitive fix for the Color Correction Engine error in Apex Legends. This leaves us to rely on various workarounds that have worked for some players. We have explained and discussed these workarounds below.

Restart the Game

One of the first workarounds for the Color Correction Engine error is to restart the game. A simple restart can sometimes clear up temporary glitches or conflicts that may be causing the error. While it might not work for everyone, try it first anyway and test your luck!

Check for GPU Driver Updates

Outdated or corrupted GPU drivers are the next possible culprit behind game crashes and errors. So, checking if your GPU drivers are up-to-date is crucial. Visit the website of your GPU manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, etc.) and download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect and then launch the game. Hopefully, you will not run into this error again.

Verify the Game Files

Corrupted or missing game files can also trigger the Color Correction Engine error. If you have the game on Steam, verifying the game files can fix the issue. Just right-click on the game from your Library, select Properties,  head over to the Installed Files tab, and click on the option to verify the integrity of the files. After the scan is completed, launch the game to check if the issue persists.

Repair the Game Through the EA App

If verifying the game files doesn’t resolve the issue, try repairing the game through the EA App. This tool can automatically detect and fix issues with the game’s installation. To do this, open the EA App, go to your game library, right-click on Apex Legends, and select “Repair”. Wait for the process to complete and see if this fixes the issue.

Check the Game for Updates

Due to the fact that this error has been troubling players since the recent update, another patch/update may be rolled out by the time you are reading this guide. So, make sure to check for updates in Apex Legends through your game launcher and install any pending ones.

Reinstall the Game

If all else fails, reinstalling the game can be a last-resort solution.  Completely remove Apex Legends from your system and then reinstall it again. Although it’s a more time-consuming process, hopefully, this will resolve persistent issues that other methods haven’t fixed.
