And Steam has the option where you can remap the buttons of your controller through your PC! Well, here is the detailed guide on how you can remap the buttons on your controller in Steam –

  • The first thing you need to do is to open up Steam and then launch it in Big Picture mode. This will make setting up things easier and better.
  • Once you have done that, go over to Settings and then click on it.

Before you start remapping your controller buttons, make sure that the controller is properly connected to the PC. You can ensure this by going to the Controller Configuration in the settings menu. Here are the remainder of the steps –

  • After you have ensured that your controller is connected properly, simply go back to the Settings menu. This time, click on Base Configurations. Here you can customize your controller buttons for desktop, Big picture mode, and Steam as well.
  • If you want to remap the buttons in the desktop mode, you can simply select the option and then set them as per your preference. You can do the same for the Steam big picture mode as well. You will have a ton of options to choose from. You can set the buttons for default play, for your web browser, for the on-screen keyboard, and set an action layer as well. You can do the same for Steam mode too.

But what should you do if you want to remap the buttons for some specific games? Is it possible? Yes, it is. And it is really easy to do as well. Here is what you have to do –
