Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles, developed by CyberConnect 2 and published by Sega, was one of the most anticipated games of 2021. We knew that it was some anime adaptation, but the real wait was to check how well it was adapted.
And we now know it. The game was released worldwide on 17 October 2021 for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users.
Yeah, there is no Nintendo Switch on the list. The devs do not have any plans of releasing the game for Nintendo Switch as of now, but we can expect it in the near future. Ok, so talking about the game, it is one of the best action-adventure games we have played to date.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles is a 3D action game where the main storyline revolves around slaying and killing demons, a lot of them.
The game is a direct adaptation of the Japanese manga anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. We have two modes in the game to play – adventure mode and versus mode. In the adventure mode, the story is the same as we saw in the anime series.
Players get to play as Tanjiro, who embarks on a journey to kill several demons to turn his sister Nezuko – who has turned into a demon – into a human. According to the initial reviews, the storyline is quite captivating and intuitive.
The game currently has about eight playable characters and more will be added with new updates. In the versus mode, players can choose any playable character – including Tanjiro and Nezuko – and battle against two other players in a 2v2 exciting battle, online or offline. Then we also have the ranked mode! Overall, the game is something you must play if you want a light yet staggering action experience.
This was all about the positives of the game Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles. It has got its share of negatives as well. And from the negatives, we mean the bugs and glitches. This game has all those issues which you can see in the regular ones and we are not too happy about that.
The common ones reported to date are the black screen issues, game crashing at launch, fatal error, UE4 not responding, etc. A new glitch has been added to the list – the game crashes while creating a save file.
This has become a big issue as players are not about to save their files or create them. Whenever they try to create a save file, a pop-up shows up reading EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0xffffffb8. The game then crashes, throwing the players to the main screen. Is there a fix for this problem? Read on to know.
We do not have any official fix regarding this issue, but there is a workaround that may help solve the problem. This workaround has reportedly worked for many, so it is worth giving a try. According to a lot of players, this error is caused due to the game being locked at 30fps. Here is what you have to do to solve it –
- Open Windows Run by either pressing the Windows + R keys together or by searching for it in the Windows Search tab.
- Enter the address LOCALAPPDATA%\APK\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and press Ok.
- Once you have done this, open the Engine.ini file using a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++
- Add the following lines at the bottom of the file –
[/script/engine.engine]
bSmoothFrameRate=True
MinDesiredFrameRate=60.000000
SmoothedFrameRateRange=(LowerBound=(Type=Inclusive,Value=30.000000),UpperBound=(Type=Exclusive,Value=60.000000))
Perform each step properly and it will hopefully solve the problem for you! Follow Digi Statement for more updates like these.
