Apex Legends KP

Apex Legends has come a long way from the simple battle royale shooter it started as, the game has a completely new system for matchmaking, using terms such as KP and RP can get confusing for new players, we will simplify the entire system so players don’t have to scan through vague answers or attempt to figure it out themselves.

Before we get to that topic, Apex Legends had a massive update and new season this month, the emergence update, which we have already covered in an article here, but for a quick recap, the 10th season returns with the map Worlds Edge with some interesting differences in its terrain and layout, a new character called Seer was also released, besides a new character and the return of a map, the emergence map came with a completely new game mode, the ranked arenas, which places players in matches on the basis of their matchmaking rank.

The update also introduced a new weapon, the rampage LMG.

What is KP in Apex Legends?

The ranked arena game mode in Apex Legends places players on the basis of their matchmaking rank, this is different than the “silver” or “Gold” rank that players receive, this matchmaking rank is increased on the basis of RP and KP, KP or “Kill Points”, the kill points are earned by assists or kills, that is by scanning or doing damage to a player 10 seconds before they are knocked, these kill points further earn you RP or “Ranked Points”. In a game you can earn a maximum of 6KP, this is calculated using your kills and assists in a game, hence, you don’t earn any KP for kills and assists over 6.

The minimum Ranked points you can receive for each kill point is 10 and this will increase based on your match placement. That’s about what KP is, it isn’t too complicated but the information regarding it isn’t available easily everywhere.
