Valorant 1.04 update Patch Notes : Buffs to Viper, Nerfs to Brimstone and Raze

Valorant Patch notes 1.04 Viper buff

This patch 1.04 note has become a big talking point in the Valorant community due to big Viper buff. It is not just one single buff though, all her abilities are strengthened.

Viper Buff

Her ultimate, Viper’s pit duration has drastically increased. When Viper is outside the pit, it now lasts for 12 seconds rather than 5. As we know, the enemies inside the pit have their vision of minimap obscured. The ultimate now allows her to reposition in fight more efficiently, allowing her more time to think.

Even her decay’s damage per second sees a hefty increase from 10 to 15. The decay effect will last for 2.5 seconds after leaving the smoke.

Simultaneous activation of both toxic screen and orb active no longer drains her toxin fuel. Both those effect will then last longer amounts of time.

This buff will put her at a much more respectable state at every level of play. Viper has been a total miss at high level games of Valorant. Lower levels see her as a complex hero, these changes differ both these aspects of her.

Brimstone Changes

Let us hear the bad news first. Brimstone’s ultimate now costs 7 points now and not 6. But we have his Stim Beacon changed to no longer benefit enemies. It also has a new area effect to pinpoint exactly where it hits. He also gets a little VFX tweak, his arms look cleaner now.

Raze and Cypher Changes

Raze’s ultimate point cost has also increased to 7 from 6. For Cypher, her cyber cage is now available during the buy phase.

Patch 1.04 Classic Pistol Change and Bug Fixes

This is a fairly important change in the patch 1.04. Classic pistol has been revamped a little. It’s accuracy is reduced while jumping and right-click functionality has been made more consistent with movements.

In a patch it is important to sort out the previous issues and improve the quality of playing. Reyna’s staring into the Soul Orb to heal was a minor issue which has been fixed. Even Valorant’s dev are doing typo management, fixing a mistake in Brimstone’s bio. This patch was relatively small but it will be interesting to see the role of Viper in the upcoming meta.

Summary

  • Viper buffed for all skill levels, Viper ultimate got very strong now.
  • Brimstone gets a minor nerf increasing point on ultimate.
  • Raze and Cypher minor changes
  • Some small bug fixes
