Saber Interactive has two major releases this year: Expeditions and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II. However, that doesn’t mean the developers have forgotten about their already-released title. In fact, SnowRunner, which was released back in 2021, has been announced to get a new expansion pack with the release of Season 12. Snowrunner happens to have a pretty great and active player base, with the Steam version alone seeing a monthly average player count of over 3k players. Quite a respectable number for such a niche genre. And with this upcoming new season, there’s a lot that players don’t know but want to.
This will be the third expansion in SnowRunner. As such, the excitement around it is already big since players will get to enjoy new maps and vehicles. The game already has over 80 trucks and 10+ regions to explore and enjoy. All this and Saber is still adding new content to the game. The last major content update was released back in November 2023, which included the Kenworth W990 and some cosmetics in the form of Jack of All Treads Tire Pack. Compared to that, this new one will be much more fun and enjoyable. SnowRunner Season 12 Release Date, New Vehicles, New maps & more details
As we stated before, Season 12 of SnowRunner will add a lot of fun things to the game. Titled Public Energy Expansion, Season 12 will go live this January 31st on PC and consoles. Furthermore, the expansion will be free for all players who happen to have purchased the Year 3 Pass and 3-Year Anniversary Edition.
The piece de résistance of this expansion is the four new maps set in North Carolina. Public Energy expansion will see players helping the North Carolina state government build a new nuclear power station. You will be hauling and delivering everything from equipment to invaluable cargo that will be used for building the power station. That’s not all, though. Truckers can also help local farmers and even assist local institutions in keeping track of environmental pollution.
No SnowRunner expansion is complete without new vehicles and the same applies to this new one too. The Public Energy expansion introduces two new vehicles: the MTB 8106 Rock Grinder and the FEMM 37-AT. The former is a scout vehicle that possesses an upgradable engine and can install safety cage and trunk repair supplies. FEMM 37-AT, on the other hand, is a heavy-duty truck suitable for hauling all kinds of cargo thanks to its four cargo slots. Besides all this, players will also get a set of 10 new stickers. Suffice it to say that Season 12 is going to be a lot of fun.
