Robocop Rogue City Unable to Run Demo Issue Is there any fix yet

Robocop Rogue City, the highly anticipated first-person shooter set in Old Detroit, promises to deliver justice with a mix of action, gore, and single-player gameplay. Well, it is scheduled to be officially released on November 2, 2023. However, since the release of the game’s demo, many players have been encountering performance issues and crashes that hamper their gaming experience. In this article, we’ll explore the problems players are facing, the potential causes behind these issues, and a range of potential solutions.

Players have reported experiencing crashes when attempting to navigate the game’s menu. These crashes mainly occur when trying to change settings or make adjustments. Some players are struggling with low frame rates, while others have encountered DirectX errors, which can prevent the game from running or result in sudden crashes during gameplay. So, since the demo has all these issues, you might now be thinking, Is there a way to fix it? If so, consider reading until the end for more details.

Robocop Rogue City Unable to Run Demo Issue: Is there any fix yet

Robocop Rogue City Unable to Run Demo Issue Is there any fix yet

While you may not expect a game’s demo version to receive updates, there was a patch update released for it to deal with the stuttering issues. However, if you are not able to launch the game, there are some workarounds to try that may help you run the Robocop Rogue City demo. Just be aware that these are just potential fixes and will likely not work in every scenario. With this out of the way, here are those workarounds.

Check System Requirements

The game seems to be demanding, and players with GPUs featuring less VRAM or CPUs that do not meet the minimum requirements may encounter performance problems. From what it seems, even gamers with PCs barely meeting the system requirements are not able to run the game. So, make sure your specs are considerably better than the minimum requirements. Here are the minimum system requirements of Robocop Rogue City:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or Ryzen 5 2600
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, 4 GB or AMD Radeon RX 480, 4 GB
  • Additional Notes: Please note that these informations aren’t final and may be subject to change until the launch of the game.

Don’t Overclock

Some players with 13th-gen CPUs featuring E-cores experience crashes and erratic performance in games built on Unreal Engine 5 (UE5), Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), and even some Source engine games. To tackle these problems, you can try downclocking your CPU. By doing so, you can potentially stabilize the game’s performance and prevent crashes. It’s important to note that overclocking can exacerbate these problems, so it’s advisable to run your CPU at its base clock speed or slightly lower when playing such games.

Update Graphics drivers and use dedicated GPU

If you’re facing performance or crashing issues, consider updating your GPU drivers to the latest version, as outdated drivers can contribute to instability. Head to your card manufacturer’s official website, Nvidia or AMD, and download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Additionally, ensure that you’re running the game on your dedicated GPU instead of integrated graphics if your system has both options. To do this, type “Graphics” in the Windows search box to open the Graphics Settings menu, and from the list of installed programs that appear, select Robocop Rogue City and set it to “High Performance”.

Lower Resolution

One workaround that seems to resolve the crashing issue is adjusting the game’s resolution using the Nvidia Control Panel. Lowering the resolution to 1600×900 (or potentially 1080p) has been reported to work effectively in addressing this issue.

Increase VRAM

Increasing virtual memory can be an effective workaround for addressing memory-related issues during the startup of Robocop Rogue City. To do this:

  • Search for “View Advanced System Settings” in the Windows search box.
  • Click “Settings” under the Advanced tab.
  • In the Performance Options window, navigate to the Advanced tab once more.
  • Click “Change” under the Virtual memory section.
  • Uncheck the option that says “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.”
  • Select the drive where the game is installed (e.g., C or D).
  • Set the custom size for virtual memory: the initial size should be 1.5 times your total RAM, and the maximum size should be 3 times your total RAM.
  • Click “OK” to apply the changes.

Check for Updates

If you have downloaded the demo and there is an update pending, make sure to download it. Perhaps an update will get rid of this issue and let you run it without further hurdles.

Finally, it’s essential to remember that the current Robocop Rogue City experience is just the demo version and the full game is yet to be released. The demo is offered for free, so there’s nothing to lose by trying it out. It’s possible that most issues encountered in the game’s demo will be fixed by the time the full game is officially launched. Until then, you can explore various workarounds to enjoy the classic Robocop experience while you eagerly await further updates and improvements.
