With only a few days left before the official release of EA Sports FC 24, there’s a lot of excitement from the fans of the series. And many even have their hands on the game as EA has made it available via early access for players who have an EA Play subscription or bought the Ultimate Edition. But this also means that those players will have to suffer through a myriad of technical issues in the game, something that is fairly common in early access. Anyway, in this guide, we will be focusing on the two controllers or ghost controller issues in EA Sports FC 24 that many might be encountering. So, if you are facing the same issue, here’s everything you need to know.
We don’t know what the root cause of this issue is. However, its effects are crystal clear. For some reason, the game just shows two or more controllers being in use despite only one being connected. Although this doesn’t affect gameplay directly, it is still annoying. This issue isn’t exclusive to the latest iteration of the series, as it was present in FIFA 23, and FIFA 22 as well. So, is there a way to fix this? Let’s find out!
EA Sports FC 24 showing two Controllers or ghost Controller Issue: Is there any fix yet
For now, players will have to make do with the following workarounds. Follow them one by one and see if any of them provide meaningful results.
Restart the game –
Before you move on to other workarounds, we highly suggest that you try restarting the game. Sometimes that’s all it takes to fix an issue. Now, if this doesn’t work, then try restarting the PC or console too.
Update your controller –
Almost all controllers these days need to be updated regularly. As for how to update them, it’s better to consult the manual for that. Once you have installed the latest available update, disconnect the controller, reconnect it, and check if you still face the issue.
Check if the system detects your controller –
Make sure to check whether the system is detecting your controller or not. To do that, open the Control Panel and then click on Hardware and Sound. Next, head to the View Devices and Printers option, and you will be able to diagnose the port detection of your controller. If it doesn’t show up, then try restarting, replugging, or reconnecting the controller.
Switch to a wired connection–
For players who have been connected to their controller via the wireless option, try switching to wired. Use the cable that came with the controller itself. If the switch to wired doesn’t work, then try the next method.
Use another controller –
If you’ve got another spare controller lying around, connect it and see if the issue still persists. There are two reasons why you should do this: one is that it will clarify whether the issue is with the game or the controller itself, and the other is that if it works, then you won’t have to do anything more.
So, did any of the workarounds help you fix this annoying issue? We hope it did. In case you have some audio/sound issues in the game too, here’s a guide for that.
