So, if you are encountering the same issue, consider reading until the end.
Well, as per recent reports, players are experiencing difficulty signing in with their Google accounts in Marvel Snap when playing the game on their Steam Deck. When attempting to log in, they encountered a message saying “This browser is not secure”, preventing them from completing the sign-in process. So, how do you solve this? Well, that is exactly what we have shared in this guide.
Marvel Snap Unable to Sign In with Google Account on Steam Deck Issue: Is there any fix yet
Sadly, at the time of writing this article, there is no official fix for this error where you are not able to sign in on your Steam Deck. To make things worse, we have not heard from the developers either. So, where does that leave us? Well, there was a player facing the same issue who posted a workaround on the game’s official discussion forums on Steam. Apparently, this workaround has been successful in fixing this issue for a number of players. Now, this workaround involves using the Deck’s Desktop Mode to initiate the sign-in process, temporarily exiting the game to sign in through a browser, and then returning to the game to complete the sign-in. It seems that by signing in through the browser while in Desktop Mode, the game is able to recognize the login when you return to it. Now, if all that flew over your head, do not worry; just follow the simple steps given below to try this fix.
- Switch to Desktop Mode: Hold the Power button on your Deck, and find the Switch to Desktop Mode option. Select it.
- Launch the Game: After loading into the Desktop mode, launch Marvel Snap.
- Click Google Sign-In: Within the game, click on the option to sign in with Google.
- Attempt to Open Browser: When prompted to open a browser window to sign in to Google, confirm the selection. However, the game may ask if you want to exit when attempting this.
- Exit the Game: If prompted to exit the game, choose to exit temporarily.
- Sign In via Browser: On your Steam Deck, open any browser (Chrome or Firefox).
- Keep Browser Open: On the browser webpage, keep the browser window open even if you receive a “webpage no longer available” error.
- Relaunch the Game: Return to the game in Desktop Mode and relaunch it.
- Click Google Sign-In Again: Within the game, click on the option to sign in with Google once more.
- Successful Sign-In: With the browser window still open in the background, clicking the Google sign-in option within the game should now work, and you should be able to log in successfully.
- Exit and Return to Gaming Mode: After successfully signing in, you can exit the game and switch back to Gaming Mode on your Steam Deck.
And now you should be able to log in using your Google account in Marvel Snap on your Steam Deck. We hope all your doubts have been cleared. For more gaming-related reads like this, make sure to visit DigiStatement regularly. Read more: Blasphemous 2 Save File Location: Where is it
