Immortals of Aveum All Difficulty Settings Explained & How to Change Them

Ascendant Studios’ Immortals of Aveum is finally here after being announced back in 2022 at The Game Awards. Available for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Windows, the game is looking pretty okay so far. Much praise has been given for its fun combat, while at the same time, there’s deserved criticism for its mediocre story. Immortals of Aveum is a first-person shooter game with a twist. Instead of shooting bullets, you will shoot magic. Sounds kind of fun, right? However, before embarking on a world-saving journey, it’s always better to know about the available difficulty settings featured in the game.

There’s a reason why most single-player games like Final Fantasy XVI and Resident Evil 4 Remake come with varying difficulty levels. By implementing such a feature, the game allows players to customize their in-game journey as they see fit. Some players are there just to enjoy the story and the combat, while others are there to test their gameplay skills. So, what are the difficulty settings in Immortals of Aveum? Let’s find out!

Immortals of Aveum All Difficulty Settings Explained & How to Change Them

Unlike most recently released games, Immortals of Aveum’s developers have decided to go with the classic difficulty levels. Each offers an exciting experience to players and has been meticulously crafted by the developers to provide as much fun as possible while also keeping in mind the skill level. Instead of offering players four or five tiers of difficulty, players get three in Immortals of Aveum. These are:

Apprentice

“A more casual combat experience for players who want to focus on the story.”

This is the base difficulty tier. The Apprentice difficulty is suited for players who just want to enjoy the game and not worry about facing tough situations. Moreover, if you are someone who is new to FPS combat, then this should be a good starting point to learn the ropes. All in all, this is the most suitable difficulty level for casual players.

Magnus

“Recommended. A balanced experience that will challenge most players.”

The Magnus difficulty level can be referred to as this game’s normal difficulty. And since it’s a recommended difficulty tier, most players will go with this one rather than the other two. If you are someone who is already familiar with FPS games and would like to face some good challenges, you should play the game on Magnus.

Immortal

“A difficult challenge for advanced players.”

And finally, we have the Immortal difficulty. You can think of it as the Hard difficulty level. If you do go ahead with this one, be ready to encounter lots of tough challenges on your journey. And of course, you will be dying a lot over the entirety of the game. It is safe to say that the Immortal difficulty is only for players who are well-versed in FPS combat and who are looking to test out their skills.

How to change the difficulty level in Immortals of Aveum?

One of the interesting features of Immortals of Aveum is that while you can pick any of the difficulty levels at the start of the game, you can also do the same during your playthrough mid-game. All you need to do is go to Settings > Gameplay and adjust the difficulty level from there. A neat feature that will help you finish the game as you see fit.
