Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon GO

With the advancement of smartphones, the mobile gaming industry has grown significantly. And speaking of mobile games, we simply cannot ignore Pokemon Go if we’re compiling a list of the most popular mobile games. Pokemon Go, which Niantic created in association with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, debuted in 2016 for both iOS and Android devices. What’s unique about this game is that it offers AR gameplay, with players being able to collect different Pokemon from their own surroundings. If you’ve been playing the game for a long time, then you must be aware of the 2019 update that introduced the Armored Mewtwo in the game. Do you want to know if you can still capture the Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon GO? Keep reading this guide to find out more details regarding it.

The Armored Mewtwo was added to the game in a 2019 update. However, do not mistake the Armored Mewtwo for the Mewtwo, which was also added during this update. These are two distinct variations of this Pokemon, with different appearances and stats. As you probably understood from the name, the Armored Mewtwo has a higher defense than the normal Mewtwo. However, attack-wise, the latter really overshadows the former. Mewtwo comes with an Attack stat of 300, compared to the mere 182 Attack stat of the Armored Mewtwo. However, despite the difference, the Armored Mewtwo is still a Legendary Pokemon that is quite a valuable addition to your arsenal. But can you still capture this companion in Pokemon Go? Let’s find out!

How to Get Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon Go?

Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon GO

If you want to collect an Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon Go, well, we have some upsetting news. Unfortunately, there’s no way to capture this companion in the game anymore. This Pokemon was added to the game as promotional content for the Pokemon movie titled, “Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution”. The event was there for a limited time, and only while it was live could you collect Armored Mewtwos from raids in PoGo. Following the end of this event, the chance to capture Armored Mewtwos via Raids is gone. However, there’s still a way through which you can get your hands on this Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

Trading

If you weren’t able to collect an Armored Mewtwo during the event but one of your in-game friends did, then you can initiate a trade to get the Pokemon. However, it won’t be an easy job by any means. Armored Mewtwo is a Legendary Pokemon, and not everyone will be willing to let go of it. You’ll have to make a significant offer if you want to lure your friend into trading the Pokemon with you. If your friend agrees to the trade, you need to make sure that both of you meet the following requirements:

  • In order to make a trade, both of you have to be at or above level 10 and must be friends in the game.
  • The real-life distance between the two of you has to be 100 meters or less.

Once these conditions are met, open your Trainer Profile in the game and go to your friends list. Tap on your friend’s in-game name you’re making the trade with, and then select the Trade option. Next, simply select the Pokemon that you want to exchange and confirm the trade. Hopefully, you’ll find this guide helpful and will be able to collect the Armored Mewtwo by following it.
