Being a newly-released game, players expect Hogwarts Legacy to have some bugs and glitches. Now, while some of these issues are insignificant, others are glaring. The “Dev.Placeholder>Item” Inventory Placeholder bug is one of the annoying ones in Hogwarts Legacy. This issue usually pops up when you pick an item that has not been properly implemented in the game. This can be quite daunting since you don’t know which item has corrupt game files. So, if you have also run into this issue and want more information about it, then you have come to the right place.
Hogwarts Legacy has been fantastic so far. This is if you exclude all the bugs and glitches. But even then, you will enjoy your time wandering around Hogwarts Castle and zipping across the sky on your broom. While exploring the map, you will often find chests and other items. Players can decide to either pick up these items or leave them. Note that you have a limited amount of slots in your inventory. So, you need to care about what you pick and what you drop. But, this process has become a whole lot more difficult due to the “Dev.Placeholder>Item” Inventory Placeholder bug. So without further ado, let’s discuss the details.

Hogwarts Legacy “Dev.Placeholder>Item” Inventory Placeholder Bug: Is there any fix yet?
At the moment, there is no official fix for the Hogwarts Legacy “Dev.Placeholder>Item” Inventory Placeholder bug. A couple of players have approached the devs with this issue but they have yet to get a positive response. There are many reasons why a solution might be delayed. First, only a handful of players have encountered this problem. Second, it is not a game-breaking bug. So, the devs might keep it lower on the priority list. Hogwarts Legacy players are struggling with a lot of other frustrating issues, that need immediate fixing, but this is not on that list.
So, you might have to wait for an official fix. According to the players, you will receive a -1 inventory debuff once you pick an item with a misplaced placeholder name as you cannot sell or use it. Now, one player suggested a workaround but right now, we don’t have a way to test if it actually works out. To replicate this workaround, try to remove the bugged item from the inventory and then either receive gold or an unID gear of some rarity. This might fix this issue if you are lucky. Otherwise, your only option is to wait for an official fix. We will make sure to update our article once more information is available. So, stay tuned to Digi Statement.
