Details about Scarlet & Violet

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have realized that they can’t pump out the same Pokemon game every year which is why they have ventured into a new direction. Although the previous Pokemon games were highly engaging, Scarlet & Violet expanded the genre into a true open-world experience. According to a few trailers and info on the official Nintendo website, it will be the most ambitious pokemon game ever.

We saw players exploring various locations like cities, wilderness, and deserts with many wild pokemon in the vicinity. Once the game releases officially on November 18, 2022, we can experience it ourselves. If you’re planning on buying the game, it is important to know basic detail on how things work. Trading is one of the aspects that you’ll have to learn to progress quickly and level up. So how should one trade in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet? See the next section to know more.

How to trade in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

You can initiate trading in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet by interacting with the Poke Portal. It can be accessed from the in-game main menu by pressing the X button. The Poke Portal features a bunch of options but we will be focusing on only two. The first option is called Link trade while the other is called Surprise Trade and each holds unique importance. We’ll be going over both of them in this piece so when the game releases, you’ll be able to use both of them.

Link trade is a feature that’s made with the specific purpose of trading with a specific person. If you have a friend or an acquaintance that owns the game, you can trade pokemon with them. To carry out a Link Trade, you will have to share a specific Link Code with the player with whom you want to trade. Once both players have entered the same code in the Link Code text field, select the Begin Searching option on top of it, and the game will start searching to connect both players. After the partner has been found, you will be taken to the Trade menu where you can exchange pokemon.

Surprise trade, however, is a different type of trade altogether. After you’ve decided on trading a pokemon you have no use for, you can trade with any random trainer across the world. The use of a Link Code is not required in this kind of trade. We hope that you enjoyed reading this article.
