Dinkum: How to get Coconut?

Dinkum is a survival simulation-style game set in Australia. It takes inspiration from games like Animal Crossing and StarDew Valley which influence its design and the way its played. In Dinkum, you can be a farmer, hunter, miner, or more. These occupations come with permits. The more permits you have, the more you can do in this game. All permits can be bought with Permit Points, a special currency that is required to buy permits. Set in the Australian Outback, the game features some familiar Australian wildlife as well with the Crocodiles and Wombats. There are multiple resources in this game that can be used to craft items. One such resource is the Coconut. This article will be about Dinkum: How to get Coconut.

Dinkum: How to get Coconut?

Coconut is really only used in 1 recipe in Dinkum. It is used only in the recipe to craft Lamington. Other than this, there is no immediate use of Coconut as anything but a consumable. The tree wood serves as a replacement for palm wood since they both drop the same wood. Despite this, if you found some use for coconut in the game, this article will be sure to cover all of it.

Dinkum: How to get Coconut?

Coconut is fairly common in Dinkum but really challenging to get. Coconut trees usually are found on tropical islands surrounding the main island. These islands can be found in archipelagos of 3-5 islands all clustered together. Once you leave the main island and get to these islands, getting coconut is very easy. Like we said before, getting TO coconut is harder than getting THE coconut.

In order to go to these tropical islands around the main island in-game, you will need to either swim or travel there. Swimming is a very bad idea because there are sharks in the water that are likely to attack you if you get into the water. Besides, swimming takes too much stamina to do. It is much easier to craft a simple seafaring vehicle like a rowboat.

Once you have one of these boats, just go over to the island. Any tree on the island will drop coconuts. All you have to do is interact with it by left-clicking and you can fill up on as many coconuts as you like.

How to grow Coconuts?

You can grow coconuts too. All you need to do is plant one on your island. Once you have done that, it will grow into a coconut tree with the passing of time and you will be able to harvest it for all the resources normal coconut trees give you. This is handy since it will save you multiple trips to those islands in a boat.
