One of the most annoying issues that many Fortnite players are facing is the permission issue that is creating a lot of frustration among players. This error or issue mainly occurs with the message, “You do not have permission to play Fortnite”. Likewise, this error is a consequence of the game not being able to authorize your account. This error is common among both casual as well as regular players alike. Therefore, you may be looking for some fixes to this error. Use a different linked email

The permission issue can be a result of your previous linked account to Epic Games. So, we think that accessing your Epic Games account with a different email account can fix the permission issue. Consequently, the permission issue is mainly because Epic Games is unable to authorize the currently linked email account. Therefore, you can try and unlink the email that you have used previously with a different email account. You can do this by going to the Connected Accounts section in your profile in the Epic Games Launcher.

Always update your game

The permission issue can also be a consequence of your game being out of date. Thus, older versions of the game are more likely to face the issue. You should always update your game to the latest version to ensure the best stability as well as performance.

Make sure that the Fortnite servers are active

Trying to log in to Fortnite when Fortnite servers are down can result in authorization issues. Therefore, always confirm that the Fortnite servers are up and running when trying to log in. You can check the status of Fortnite servers by heading here.

Reset your WiFi router

Network issues can also be the reason for this error. Lack of proper internet connection due to your WiFi router can result in issues. Therefore, consider resetting your WiFi router before connecting as well as logging in to your Fortnite account.

Restart Fortnite

Another simple workaround that you can follow when facing the error is to restart your game. Simply quit the game when facing the permission error and wait for a while. After that, launch the game and the issue should be fixed.
