WhatsApp Messenger, a cross-platform mobile messaging app for smartphones which allows users to send and receive messages, photos, and other information and is considered an alternative to text messages or SMS is currently down at many locations. Many users are unable to send images,videos or upload status on WhatsApp.

Down detector – a renowned service that gives details about live outages – also conveys that WhatsApp is indeed going through a glitch in some regions as can be seen in the image below:
DownDetector Whatsapp outage map shows the most affected users are from; India, Europe, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brazil.
Any official word on the matter? No, not yet. We’re not able to obtain a word from the official service channels or their social media handles.

The issue has been fixed now. As many users are reporting that they are able to send images and videos now.
