Warhammer Vermintide 2 Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, & Asus Rog Ally Support Details (2)

Warhammer: Vermintide 2, the action-packed cooperative game set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, has been going strong since its release in 2018. With regular updates and new content, the game has kept its player base engaged and eager for more. Now, as the gaming space expands to include handheld devices like the Steam Deck and other much more powerful devices like the Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, many players are curious about Vermintide 2’s compatibility and support for these platforms. As always, we have compiled all the information you need to know about Vermintide 2’s support for these devices.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s PvE element is a cornerstone of its replayability, drawing players back time and again to tackle the relentless hordes of Skaven and Chaos forces. While PC gamers have long enjoyed cooperative play with friends, the question arises: will this same experience be available on handheld devices? With the support of devices like the Steam Deck, Legion Go, and ROG Ally, the game can reach out to an even wider player base.

Steam Deck

While Warhammer: Vermintide 2 may not be officially verified for the Deck or other handheld devices, the game’s dedicated player base has been experimenting with running it on these platforms since its release several years ago. Despite lacking official support, some players have found success in running the game with a few tweaks and workarounds. However, it’s essential to remember that since Vermintide 2 is not inherently compatible with Steam’s Deck OS, you can only host games and not join when playing it on the Steam Deck. Well, attempting to play it may result in various issues and challenges. This could probably be caused by its anti-cheat system, which is not configured to support such platforms officially. Issues such as the game not launching or getting stuck on loading screens, amongst various others, are common for the game on the Steam Deck. Despite these challenges, players have found workarounds, like using Proton versions or tweaking launch options. So, in a nutshell, feel free to try out the game yourself to see how well it runs on your Steam Deck!

Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go

For the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, similar to the case with the Steam Deck, there is no official support for Warhammer: Vermintide 2. However, since the game can run on the Steam Deck, players should not encounter hardware-related issues when attempting to play on these more powerful handheld devices. Both the ROG Ally and Legion Go boast superior hardware capabilities compared to the Steam Deck, and also run Windows OS, which means that even though official support may be lacking, you should eventually be able to play the game on these platforms. Still, no video game is perfect and there are chances that you might run into all sorts of bugs and issues.
