When it comes to sports games, Electronic Arts has a pretty good chunk of them in its portfolio. From football to golf, there’s a good amount of sports series that EA has and continues to release. And among these series is also the UFC series. Starting with EA Sports UFC in 2014, the mixed martial arts fighting series has garnered a pretty loyal following over the years. The latest entry into the series was UFC 5 on October 27, 2023, which launched to a positive reception. But now that UFC 5 is already here, some in the community want to know when the next UFC is going to be released for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Unlike some other sports series under EA, the UFC series isn’t an annual one. As such, players usually have to wait longer for a UFC game to release than they would for something like the Madden NFL series. So, when’s UFC 6 getting released? Well, that’s what we will be discussing here. So, without much further ado, let’s go ahead and find out all about that.
UFC 6 Release Date for PS5 & Xbox Series X/S: When it will be available
At the time of publishing this, EA is yet to announce anything related to the release of UFC 6. And believe it or not, it’s safe to say that we won’t be seeing any news or announcements related to UFC 6 anytime soon. Why? Well, as we stated before, EA Sports UFC 5 just came out on October 27, 2023, and that’s quite recent. So expecting the next one to just release so early is nothing more than wishful thinking.
It took EA a few good years to release EA Sports UFC 5. Before it, UFC 4 was released in 2020, UFC 3 in 2018, and UFC 2 in 2016. As you might have guessed already by this, save for UFC 5, most UFC titles were released in a span of two years. Not much is known about why UFC 5 was delayed by three years, but nevertheless, it’s finally here. As for the next EA Sports UFC game, we believe that it will be released sometime in 2025 if we go by the usual 2-year cycle. And if, by chance, EA decides to stick to the new three-year cycle, then players will have to wait until 2026.
Both EA and UFC renewed their video gaming deals back in 2020. As such, EA holds the exclusive UFC video game rights until 2030. Suffice it to say, EA has a few more good years to deliver some amazing UFC games. Moreover, unless EA changes its plan, we are more than sure that the upcoming UFC titles, including UFC 6 will be available on the PS and Xbox consoles, as they usually have since the first UFC game in 2014. For now, all UFC fans need to enjoy UFC 5 and wait for EA to announce the development of UFC 6.
