Imane Anys, better known as Pokimane is one of the top female personalities on Twitch with a huge fan following and millions of subscribers on her YouTube and Instagram accounts. While on her trip to Canada the streamer opened up about the feelings of living in Los Angeles. In her vlog of February 23, she shared her feelings about living in California.
On her second Youtube channel, “Pokemane Too,” the streamer said, “I filmed something while I was in Canada, where I talked about how I feel living on the West Coast—living in a very influencer intensive area,.” Then she continued and revealed that she doesn’t feel living in Los Angeles like a home. “So much of the time when I’m home, I’m reminded of things I don’t like about LA. But there are just certain things that make East Coast feel like home, and I feel like I’ll never be able to get that in LA,” the streamer continued.
Pokimane also explained that she felt the environment of California not right for her. “I just don’t know if the environment is really right for me. I would feel better or feel like I fit in more in a city back in Canada. Or maybe elsewhere in the United States.”
Then she explained why she felt out of LA culture where people treat her differently based on her subscriber’s count and. “People just care about what you do, and what value you bring them. Not so much who you are. Where you’re from, what’s going on in your life.” Pokimane also stated that her friends in the US city make her feel like they are only for convenience. She said that if she stopped what she’s doing, then they are not going to check her. “They’re not going to want to continue a friendship with me,” she said.
At last, she said that she doesn’t want to live in LA anymore.
Her revelation shows that despite having a large fan following, anyone can feel lonely and disturbed in a place.
