Twitch is a video live streaming service operated by Twitch Interactive which is a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. Twitch was introduced in the year 2011 as a spin-off of the general-interest streaming platform Justin.tv. It focuses on video game live streaming which includes broadcasts of esports competitions along with music broadcasts, creative content and “in real life” streams. The content of Twitch can be viewed live or through video on demand. Twitch had 45 million unique viewers in October 2013 and came to be known as the fourth largest source of peak Internet traffic in United States by February 2014.
The service had more than 100 million viewers every month by 2015 and since 2017, Twitch has been the leading live streaming video service for video games in the US, and had an advantage over YouTube Gaming. Since February 2020, Twitch had 3 million monthly broadcasters and 15 million daily active users with average concurrent users of 1.4 million. By May 2018, Twitch had around 27,000 partner channels.
Apart from all this, Twitch website and the app is blocked from Apple App Store in China since 20th September 2018. The service was also blocked in India by Reliance-owned telecommunication company Jio along with internet service providers like JioFiber and Hathway in September 2020 since a few users were illegally streaming matches of 2020 Indian Premier League on Twitch.
Overall, Twitch has been very useful in places where it is accessible. But still, the service faces some errors because of which broadcasts on certain devices gets interrupted. The error is known as the Error 788078D4. Users of Twitch, especially the ones who stream it on Xbox have been facing this issue. A user said that when he tries to broadcast anything with the Twitch app, the Error 788078D4 appears and it says “We’re so sorry; something unexpected happened”.
A user of Xbox One said that the Error 788078D4 appeared on screen when he tried to broadcast something with the Twitch app and it said that two-factor authentication is needed to stream. But users who have enabled the two-factor authentication are also experiencing the same error. If you are getting the same error while trying to broadcast Twitch content on your device, check on your stream key and reset it. After this, Twitch will prompt you to enable two factor authentication to view the stream key. Set up the authentication and after this, you will be able to stream Twitch on your device.
