The TopSpin franchise is finally back. The wait lasted for quite a long time but after more than a decade, a new entry into the series is here. Developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games, TopSpin 2K25 is slated for an official release on April 26, 2024, for all major platforms except for the Nintendo Switch. Boasting a roster of over 24 tennis legends, a number of iconic courts, and competitive single-player and multiplayer modes, TopSpin 2K25 is looking to be a great new tennis game. Fans of the series, both old and new, are certainly excited for TopSpin 2K25’s release and want to know all about it. Something that a lot of players are particularly curious about is whether the game has crossplay and cross-progression support.
Just a quick refresher. Crossplay is a feature that allows players to play a game with others on different hardware and platforms. Cross-progression, on the other hand, is a feature that allows you to continue your progress from one platform to another. And both are the kind of features that players look forward to enjoying in a game. So, does TopSpin 2K25 support crossplay and cross-progression? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
TopSpin 2K25 Crossplay & Cross Progression Support details
Let’s start with crossplay support. Players should be happy to know that TopSpin 2K25 will indeed support it. And what’s more, it doesn’t have limited cross-play support like some games do. The FAQ section on the official TopSpin 2K25 website clearly states that there’s full crossplay between PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. This applies to all online game modes, too. So, if you were worried about there being no crossplay or a limited crossplay, then you can safely abandon all those worries.
Cross-progression support, on the other hand, is somewhat tricky. Currently, there’s no mention of PC having cross-progression. Consoles, however, have that but even that is limited. You see, while there is cross-progression support, it’s limited to the same console family. So, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can continue with their progress on either of the consoles but not on Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One. The same applies to Xbox console users too. Furthermore, you can only resume your progress if you are using the same 2K account.
Why is there no cross-progression for PC? We don’t really know. The fans certainly want cross-progression to be on PC too, but it’s yet to be seen whether Hangar13 includes it before the game releases on April 26, 2024. If the developers do announce anything related to this, we will be sure to update our readers on it.
