Nintendo’s flagship title of the year – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, has finally been released for the Switch. Released on 12th May 2023, it’s been a long wait for Zelda fans. Now that it’s here and playable, there’s no doubt that Nintendo utilized its developmental time masterfully. Breath of the Wild pales in comparison to what Tears of the Kingdom offers to its players. From the bigger world to more sandbox freedom and even greater emphasis on the story, ToTK is a serious contender for that Game of the Year award. Nintendo has also made combat much harder than BoTW thanks to the wider enemy variety and tougher bosses. Bows in ToTK also have more uses due to their fused abilities. However, due to weapon durability being back, you could go through your bow stash rather quickly. And that’s why it’s better for players to know what and how many types of bows are available in the game.
Tears of the Kingdom pretty much uses the same combat style as Breath of the Wild. There’s little to no difference at all. Now, if you weren’t a fan of BoTW’s combat, then we don’t think you would go gaga over ToTK’s. However, one advantage that this game has over its predecessor is that the fuse mechanic is fun to tinker around with and is a lot more helpful. Combine a weapon with another material, lo and behold! You get a new, and in most cases, better weapon. From a shield fused with a bookshelf to a branch fused with a rock, ToTK has turned into a “true” sandbox game. Of course, arrows can also be fused with other materials. And you would need a plethora of bows to experiment and use all your arrows too.
TLoZ: Tears of the Kingdom All Bows List
You will find these bows spread all over Hyrule. Some are special while others can be acquired by defeating enemies. There are a total of thirty varieties of bows in the game currently, so keep exploring to get them all.
Bow Name |
Description |
Location |
Old Wooden Bow | A 4-Attack weapon, the Old Wooden Bow is one of the first bows you will find in the game. Suitable for hunting animals. | Great Sky Island |
Wooden Bow | The Wooden Bow has the same 4-Attack property as Old Wooden Bow. Not very powerful but serves its purpose. | South Lanayru Sky Archipelago, Hyrule Field |
Forest Dweller’s Bow | Crafted by the mysterious Koroks, the Forest Dweller’s Bow has a 15-Attack property. Its main wow factor is that this bow fires three arrows at the same time. | Great Hyrule Forest |
Traveler’s Bow | This bow has a 5-Attack power. Powerful than the Wooden Bow at least. | Central Hyrule Depths, Hyrule Field |
Soldier’s Bow | A great early-game bow that boasts a good 14-attack. Certainly more powerful than most civilian bows. | Hebra Mountains. Hyrule Field |
Knight’s Bow | A great upgrade from the Soldier’s Bow as it has a respectable 26 attack. Was once used by the knights at the Hyrule Castle. Hence the name. | Gerudo Desert, Akkal Highlands |
Royal Bow | The best and most powerful of the Soldier lineup of bows. It’s got an impressive 38 attack, so it will hit pretty hard. | Hyrule Field, Central Hyrule Depths |
Gerudo Bow | The only Gerudo-made bow in the game. It has a respectable 25 attack and is suitable for both early and middle-game. | Gerudo Highlands. Gerudo Desert |
Zora Bow | Just like the Gerudo Bow, this one is also the only Zora-made bow in the game. But unlike the Gerudo Bow, it’s got a 20-attack property. | Lanayru Great Spring |
Swallow Bow | This one is the first of the three Rito-made bows. Being the basic of the lineup, it has only 8 attack. | Tabantha Frontier, Hebra Mountains |
Falcon Bow | The Falcon Bow has the same 14 attack power as the Soldier’s bow. Not much of an upgrade from the basic Rito-made bow, but still usable. | Tabantha Frontier, Hebra Mountains |
Great Eagle Bow | When it comes to attacking power, the Great Eagle Bow has just a slight advantage over the Knight’s Bow. A 28-attack bow, it seems ok at first but it’s not. After all, this is the best Rito-made bow out there. The Great Eagle Bow can fire three arrows simultaneously, so you have got a pretty impressive bow here. . | Rito Village |
Lynel Bow | The Lynels are some of the hardest mini-bosses in both games. So, it makes sense that their bow would be packing a good punch. This base Lynel bow has a 10 attack power, while also being capable of firing three arrows at once. | East Necluda, Deep Akkala |
Mighty Lynel Bow | The Mighty Lynel Bow is also capable of firing three arrows. And it has a 20-attack power. A great upgrade from the base bow. | Akkala Highlands Depths, Lanayru Great Spring |
Savage Lynel Bow | Savage Lynel Bow is wielded by the mightiest of mighty Lynel. So, it makes sense that this bow would have a powerful 32 attack. And it also hits multiple enemies with three arrow fire. | Lanayru Wetlands Depths, Gerudo Highlands |
Lizal Bow | The Lizal Bow comes with a 14-attack power and is arguably one of the best base bows in the game. | Lanayru Wetlands, Gerudo Desert Depths |
Strengthened Lizal Bow | Strengthened Lizal Bow is a great mid-game weapon thanks to its 25 attack power. | Gerudo Desert, Akkala Highlands Depths |
Steel Lizal Bow | At 36 attack power, the Steel Lizal Bow is just slightly underpowered than the Royal Bow. It’s still a great weapon regardless. | Central Hyrule Depths, Gerudo Highlands Depths |
Boko Bow | Wielded by your run-of-the-mill Bokoblins, the Boko bow has only a 4-attack power. | Central Hyrule Depths, Hyrule Field |
Spiked Boko Bow | The Spiked Boko Bow is nothing to write home about. Despite being an upgraded Boko bow, it still lacks in terms of attack power. An ok 12 attack will only be helpful in the early game. | Gerudo Highlands Depths, Hyrule Field |
Dragonbone Boko Bow | Sporting a good 24 attack, the Dragonbone Boko Bow still pales in comparison to most top-of-the-line bows. | Gerudo Highlands Depths, Gerudo Highlands |
Construct Bow | The Construct Bow is wielded by the new Zonai-related enemies called Construct. This is their base bow, which has an attack power of 5. | North Gerudo Sky Archipelago, South Lanayru Sky Archipelago |
Strong Construct Bow | Strong Construct Bow boasts a not-so-impressive 11-attack power. | Death Mountain Depths, Rising Island Chain |
Mighty Construct Bow | One good thing about both Strong and Mighty Construct Bow is that they are fireproof. However, even though it’s the best in the Construct line of bows, the Mighty Construct Bow is only capable of 24 attack power. | Thyphlo Ruins, Lomei Labyrinth Island |
Phrenic Bow | This one is crafted by the Sheikah. Has a 10-attack power. | West Necluda, East Necluda |
Royal Guard’s Bow | Another weapon crafted by the Sheikah. It’s a great bow that can be used for end-game content, all thanks to its 50 attack power. | Unknown (as of now) |
Dusk Bow | The Dusk Bow is useful for long-range shots. Has a 30-attack power. | Unknown (as of now) |
Duplex Bow | Used by the Yiga Clan, the Duplex Bow is one of the many additions from Breath of the Wild. And it still fires two arrows while having a 14-attack power. | Gerudo Desert Depths, Hyrule Field |
Zonaite Bow | The Zonaite Bow is an entirely new bow. As the name suggests, it was crafted by the mysterious Zonai. While it has only an attack power of 30, it can be charged to fire a long way. It will drain your energy cells, though. | Unknown (as of now) |
Demon King’s Bow | Currently, the most powerful bow in the game. It shoots with an attack power of 60. | Unknown (as of now) |
