Throne and liberty error code 30005 How to fix it

Throne and Liberty has officially launched. It is a promising MMORPG with a free-to-play model but as with many new releases, there are a few ongoing issues that players are encountering. One is error code 30005, which can be frustrating when you’re eager to jump into the game. So, if you are struggling with it, keep reading this guide till the end as we take a closer look at what causes the 30005 error in Throne and Liberty and explore potential fixes to help you resolve it.

The ERROR 30005 (CreateFile failed with 32) in Throne and Liberty could occur when the game’s anti-cheat system, Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), encounters issues accessing certain files it needs to function. But this has not been confirmed. The error prevents the game from launching and sometimes triggers a blue screen crash on your computer. Well, let’s see if there is a fix available.

Throne and Liberty Error Code 30005: How to fix it

Throne and liberty error code 30005 How to fix it

As of now, there isn’t an official or guaranteed fix for ERROR 30005 (CreateFile failed with 32) in Throne and Liberty. However, there are several potential fixes suggested by players that might help resolve the issue. While none of these are a sure-shot solution, trying them out could get your game running smoothly again.

Restart the Game and Your Device

Sometimes, simply restarting the game a few times can resolve temporary issues. If restarting the game doesn’t work, try rebooting your device entirely. This clears out any residual conflicts that might be preventing the game from launching correctly.

Avoid Overclocking

Overclocking your CPU or GPU can sometimes cause instability and lead to this error in-game. If you have overclocked your CPU/GPU, revert to the default settings through your BIOS or the software used for overclocking. Once you’ve returned to default settings, test the game again to see if the issue is resolved.

Check for GPU Driver Updates

Outdated or corrupted GPU drivers are often the cause of game crashes. Check if there are any driver updates available for your graphics card, either through the manufacturer’s software (like NVIDIA GeForce Experience or AMD Adrenalin) or through Windows Device Manager. Keeping drivers up to date can resolve compatibility issues.

Increase VRAM

If your drivers are up to date, try increasing your VRAM. Now if you are new to this, don’t worry, just follow the steps given below.

  • Search for “View Advanced System Settings” in the Windows search box.
  • Select the first result, go to the Advanced tab, and then click “Settings” in the Performance section.
  • Here, in the Performance Options window, navigate to the Advanced tab once again.
  • Now, click “Change” under the Virtual Memory section.
  • Uncheck the option that says “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives”.
  • After this, select the drive where the game is installed (e.g., C or D).
  • Set the custom size for virtual memory: the initial size should be 1.5 times your total RAM, and the maximum size should be 3 times your total RAM.
  • Click “OK” to apply the changes.

Clean Boot

Performing a clean boot can help you identify any software conflicts that may be causing the crash. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter. Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft Services, and then click Disable All. Next, go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager. Disable all startup items, then restart your PC. Launch Throne and Liberty to see if the issue persists.

Verify Game Files

Corrupted or missing game files can trigger the error. To ensure your game files are intact, open Steam, go to your game library, right-click Throne and Liberty, and select Properties. In the Installed Files tab, click Verify Integrity of Game Files. This will scan and replace any faulty files.

Allow the Game Through Firewall and Antivirus

Sometimes, your firewall or antivirus software may block the game from running. Ensure that both Throne and Liberty and the Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) service are allowed through your firewall and any third-party antivirus software you are using. You may need to manually whitelist these programs in your Firewall and Anti-Virus settings.

Delete the EAC .sys Files and EAC Folder

Corrupted Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) files could be causing the error. Navigate to the %appdata% folder on your PC and delete the EAC.sys files and the entire EAC folder. This will force the game to recreate fresh EAC files when it’s launched, potentially resolving the issue.

Check for Game and Windows Updates

If you don’t have the habit of updating your games and other important software, make sure both your game and Windows are up to date. Updates can include patches and fixes that resolve known bugs, performance issues, or compatibility problems.

Reinstall Easy Anti Cheat

Perhaps it is the anti-cheat that is the culprit. To rule this out, try reinstalling EAC altogether. Start by right-clicking on Throne and Liberty in your game launcher, selecting Properties, going to Installed Files, and clicking Browse. Locate the EasyAntiCheat.exe file in the game folder, and launch it. In the EAC program, select Uninstall and then click on Reinstall. Once done, launch the game to check if the issue persists.

Reinstall on a Faster Drive

Finally, if none of the above workarounds have been of any help, consider reinstalling Throne and Liberty on a faster drive, like an SSD. Slow storage devices can sometimes cause crashes or loading issues. Reinstalling on a fast drive can improve game loading times and eventually fix the issue.

For now, these are some effective workarounds that could fix the 30005 error in Throne and Liberty. We hope that the game soon gets a major patch fixing this error code and also other codes like error 1,006 or 1.006. That being said, keep visiting DigiStatement daily for gaming guides like this!
