This error code 109 in the game is very common mainly because of the cause of the error. When a mod gets corrupted or outdated, the error code occurs in the game. Additionally, this error code may also be a consequence of issues with the Origin version of the game.

Steps to fix The Sims 4 error code 109 –The Sims 4

  1. First and foremost, you have to take a backup of all your mods. This is because fixing this error code requires players to delete some files that are necessary for mods. Therefore, you have to move all your mods folders to a safe location.
  2. In order to keep a backup of your mods, you have to open your File Explorer and go to the install location of the Sims 4. You can find that location in the following folder path – \Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\
  3. Next up, you have to right-click on the Mods folder and click on Copy, then paste it into a safe location outside of the game’s main folder. This is your backup of mods.
  4. Then, you have to go back to the game’s main folder. Likewise, you have to right-click on the localthumbcache.package file and delete it.
  5. Now, you have to launch Origin and go to your Game Library. Then, you have to right-click on the Sims 4 game and choose the option that says Repair.
  6. You have to then wait for the repair to finish. After successfully finishing the repair, you have to restart your computer.
  7. Finally, you can go to the location of your Mods backup and move it back into the game’s installation folder.
  8. Also, make sure to update the game to the latest version to avoid any potential error code occurrence.
