The Outlast Trials Save File Location Where is it

The Outlast Trials is finally out after being anticipated by fans of the franchise. On the 18th of May, the game hit the shelves of Steam Early Access, which essentially means that the game is yet to be polished and made perfect before the full release. Speaking about the game, it’s yet another classic Outlast game with all the horror and nightmares that come along with playing these games. The Outlast Trials takes things up a notch with its overall theme. Even if you are not new to the horror genre and have survived other games, The Outlast Trials is cut from a different cloth and is surely going to leave your blood curdling after each session. All of that banter aside, the thing we are going to address in today’s article is the location of the game’s save files. There are players who are having trouble locating it on their PCs, and to aid them, we have put together this guide.

Save files, as the name suggests, are all your progress in a game compiled in a file for the game to access and let you start from the point where you left off. Losing these files means only one thing: starting over from scratch. Therefore, it becomes absolutely necessary to know the location of the save file for whatever game you are playing. Since The Outlast Trials is a new game and one that is still in early access, players may not be sure about the location of the saved files. If you are looking for the same, continue reading.

Now, whatever your reasons may be, from trying out mods in the game to switching to a different system, you would want to keep a backup of the saved files to ensure that your progress in the game is not lost. Moreover, it is even wiser to keep a backup regardless. You never know when you might need them in the future. With that being said, just follow the steps outlined below to make your way to the location of the saved files of The Outlast Trials.

  • Open File Explorer and navigate to the C drive.
  • Next, head to the “Users” folder, where you will find different user accounts registered on your PC.
  • Open the folder that corresponds to your username.
  • Now, you need to access the hidden “AppData” folder. If you don’t see the AppData folder, click on the “View” tab at the top of File Explorer and check the box that says “Hidden items.”
  • Once the Appdata folder is visible, open it, and then head to the “Local” folder.
  • Within the Local folder, locate and open the “OPP” folder.
  • Inside the OPP folder, you will find the “Saved” folder. Open it.
  • Here, you will find the “SaveGames” folder. This is where your saved game files of The Outlast Trials are located.

And there you have it. By following the steps given above, you should be able to locate the saved files of the game. You can keep a backup of it so that your progress won’t be lost in case the file in the original directory gets corrupted.

Anyway, that is all for this guide. We hope it was helpful and for more guides and tutorials like this, stay tuned to Digistatement. Also, if you want to know how to change the FOV in The Outlast Trials, click here.
