Featuring a world filled with deadly creatures, your primary objective in the game is to get footage out of it. But remember, you can become the headline if you aren’t careful enough. Anyway, as this game is all about adventuring together with your friends in a co-op setting, the inability to hear them makes the experience pretty bland. The Headliners No Audio/Sound Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet
As of now, there hasn’t been any official fix for this issue. However, there is some good news. In response to player reports on the game’s Steam discussion forum, one of the game developers did mention a few workarounds that are worth trying out. They even stated that they would be investigating this issue. Even a Steam post has been shared addressing the audio issues in-game. So, until an official fix is released, try these workarounds:
Restart
A restart can sometimes be the only method that’s required to fix this issue. So, consider restarting the game first, and then if the issue persists, try a full system restart. Doing so might do the trick.
Check system date & time
While this might seem unrelated, one of the game developers shared that this issue can also occur if the time and date settings of your PC don’t align with the real world. So, head over to the Windows Settings menu and then access the Time & Date Settings option. Here, make sure the Set Time & Date Automatically setting is set to On.
Try beta version
Another developer-suggested workaround to fix this issue is to try the game’s beta version. How? It’s quite simple. Just go to Steam, access the Library tab, and right-click on The Headliners. Now, select Properties and then access the Beta tab. Here, enter the following code: “QWG82nvi3mCc” to download the game’s beta. Check whether the same issue persists.
Visual C++ Files
Another potential cause of this issue is missing or corrupted Visual C++ Files. So, to ensure that’s not the case, access the official Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables page and then download the x64 version. Run the setup and install them. If already installed, first uninstall and then install again. Once done, launch the game.
Use different audio output device
If you are using headphones while playing the game, consider disconnecting them from your PC and then check whether the in-game sound is audible via your PC’s speakers or connect a different audio device. Also, make sure that there aren’t multiple output devices connected to your PC.
Check Windows Sound Settings
For this workaround, first launch the game and then click on the sound icon in the taskbar. Now, select the right-arrow button next to the sound slider. Here, make sure that the volume slider of The Headliners is set to max. After this, check whether the in-game audio works.
Reinstall
Finally, if none of the workarounds have been of any help, then all that’s left to do is simply reinstall the game. After reinstalling, the issue should no longer persist. If it does, then just wait for an official patch fix, as it is currently in the works.
With that said, now you know all about the no audio/sound not working issue in the game. If you find this guide informative, consider visiting DigiStatement for more such interesting guides on all things gaming.
