Nexon’s upcoming third-person looter shooter will be releasing soon and fans are excited. Before that, Nexon has also announced a Final Technical Test of the game for PC via Steam, which will be held from May 25 to 26. As the release date approaches, some players also want to know when the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch and Game Pass. And that’s something this article will be focusing on.
Nexon is slated to launch The First Descended on PC, along with both the eighth and ninth generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. However, some in the community are also looking forward to enjoying the game on the Nintendo Switch and Game Pass. So, when will it be available? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
The First Descendant Nintendo Switch & Game Pass Release Date: When it will be available
At the time of publishing this, The First Descendant hasn’t been announced for either the Nintendo Switch or Game Pass. As we stated earlier, so far, the only confirmed platforms that are set to see the game’s release are PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox Series X/S & One. All in all, there’s simply no mention of either of the aforementioned platforms from Nexon.
Is a Nintendo Switch & Game Pass version even planned?
To be honest, we aren’t really privy to that kind of information right now. However, if we are to speculate, then the chances of there being a Game Pass version of The First Descendant is more likely than there being one for the Nintendo Switch. Why? Put simply, the Nintendo Switch is just not powerful enough to run a game like this. It’s officially at the end of its lifecycle, as Nintendo has already announced that they will be releasing the successor to the Nintendo Switch soon. A Game Pass version on the other hand, is a possible thing that Nexon could do since the game will be released on Xbox consoles too. But at the end of the day, these are just simple speculations from our side. If we do get any official news about a Nintendo Switch or Game Pass version release, then we will be sure to let our readers know all about it. In the meantime, if you happen to have a PC, we suggest joining the upcoming Final Technical Test to see how the game’s going.
Oh and by the way, last year in August of 2023, the devs posted Episode 2 of Dev Talk where they answered various questions about the game. During this, they also answered a question related to the game being playable on the Steam Deck and GeForce Now. At that time, Beomjun Lee, the producer of The First Descendant, stated this in a reply: “We’ve had a lot of people ask about this, and unfortunately, we don’t have the plan to do so, but we will reevaluate this later and let you know.” Now, this was last year so things could’ve changed since then, but until announced otherwise, it’s also safe to assume that Nexon isn’t planning to support Steam Deck or bring the game to GeForce Now too.
