It’s been an absolutely long wait but Tekken 8 is finally going to be here. After more than half a decade, Bandai has finally decided to release Tekken 8 on January 26th, 2024. And with that, the fighting game community will get yet another new gem. The game is scheduled for a simultaneous release on PC, PS5, and the Xbox Series X/S. Suffice it to say, everybody’s more than excited for this one. We already know that the base roster will comprise 32 characters, so there are plenty of fighters to try out and enjoy. But curiosity is at an all-time high right now and many want to know what characters are coming in with the upcoming DLCs.
There’s one too many characters in Tekken, so having them all on the base roster doesn’t seem logical. Releasing some characters with DLCs helps keep a game fresh and diversifies play styles. Tekken 7 itself had a ton of characters made available through DLC, with Leroy Smith and Anna Williams being some major examples of that. And with Tekken 8 releasing soon, it’s only evident that many would be curious about the game’s DLC. So, without much further ado, let’s go ahead and find out all about this.
Tekken 8 Season 1 DLC characters for Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter
As of now, we only have confirmation on one DLC character. Bandai Namco released Tekken 8’s Official Opening Movie and DLC Announcement Trailer just recently on January 15, 2024. Thanks to this trailer, we now know that the first Season 1 DLC character coming in Spring will be the Brazilian capoeira fighter, Eddy Gordo. But that’s all the official info we have on DLC characters for now.
We do have some unofficial info on Tekken 8’s DLC characters. The announcement of Eddy Gordo as the first DLC character seemingly confirms this leak here. If we are to go by this leak, then it means that along with Eddy Gordo, the remaining three DLC spots for Spring will be taken up by Roger the Kangaroo, Armor King, and a newcomer fighter called Xiao Meng. However, having just one character confirmed doesn’t give legitimacy to this leak. In fact, we suggest waiting for at least one more character like Xiao Meng or Roger to get announced before you get your hopes up with this leak. It is very likely that all three other yet-to-be-confirmed characters will be spread out between different DLCs for Summer, Autumn, and Winter, rather than being part of just one. But these are all just speculations from our side and nothing more, so make sure to take it with a pinch of salt. In fact, right now, what we suggest you do is just wait for Tekken 8 to release and have Bandai announce more on the DLCs in the future.
Well, that’s all the information we have on this. Additionally, if you want to know more about the game’s crossplay details, don’t forget to take a quick look here. And for more such content, keep following DigiStatement. Also read: Fallout New Vegas Steam Deck controller not working: How to fix it?
