System Shock Steam Deck Compatibility Details & More

Folks, we are currently in the AI era. No doubt, it makes our lives easier, but there are also concerns regarding its disadvantages. After all, if you think closely, it’s a double-edged sword, and if we are not cautious with our approach to it, there might be severe consequences in the future. We, as humans, have always fantasized about a world where AI takes control. There are movies and games that focus on this, with stories revolving around a rogue AI. We are talking about this because an old game called System Shock just got a remake. The plot of the game is simple: you are in the clutches of a spaceship controlled by an AI, and your objective is to escape it by any means. It’s a regular sci-fi FPS game with RPG elements. Now, if you have decided to play the remake of System Shock, that too on your Steam Deck, you must be wondering if the game is compatible with it. Well, worry not; we have all the answers regarding this.

So we already have powerful hardware capable of making games look realistic. But what is the next step? Well, in our opinion, the next step in advancement is to shrink the size of this hardware. This could facilitate portable gaming, which is becoming a booming market in the gaming industry. After all, who wouldn’t want to carry their games wherever they go? To make this a reality and, most importantly, to capitalize on this growing market, we have handled consoles like the Nintendo Switch and Valve’s Steam Deck, and recently, Asus has also jumped into the market with its own device. And that is not all; even Sony is planning to drop a new PS-handled console in the future. With that out of the way, let us see if System Shock is compatible with the Steam Deck.

Well, do you know that Valve gives the “deck verified” badge to games that are officially compatible with the Steam Deck? As of writing this article, the game doesn’t have the official Steam Deck verification badge. But that is not the end; the thing with Steam Deck is that official verification gives a complete picture of the game’s compatibility on the handheld. However, most games tend to run on the Deck without even having the official Steam Deck Verified badge. And this is also the case with System Shock; even though it is not officially verified, you will still be able to play the game on your Steam Deck.

We have reports of players confirming the same, so you should try it out as well. Finally, the game was recently released, so it is possible that the developers will have the game verified for Steam Deck later in the future. But take this information with a grain of salt because it is just our speculation. Well, that is all the information we have regarding the compatibility of System Shock on Steam Deck.
