Street Fighter (SF) 6 Error Code 40200-21001 Is there any fix yet

So, you picked up Street Fighter over other popular fighting games, hoping that it would offer you a better experience. While the gameplay of each game in the fighting genre is different, and hence, the choice for the best fighting game may be subjective, one thing is common to all. Errors! As always, no gaming experience is complete without a few errors bugging you every now and then. Likewise, you might be facing Error Code 40200-21001 while playing Street Fighter 6, and if you are reading this guide, your search has ended.

Now, this error code 40200-21001 is mostly related to the Xbox version of the game. As per reports, it occurs while attempting to play SF6 with a friend on Xbox. To begin with, we do not know the exact reason for this error, but the community at large is speculating that it is a NAT (Network Address Translation)-related issue. This, in turn, can lead to errors like the one we are talking about in this article. Fortunately, a potential solution has helped some players resolve this problem: port forwarding. But wait, what is Port forwarding? To put it simply, it is a technique that allows external devices to communicate with specific ports on your router. By configuring your router to forward the necessary ports, you can potentially overcome NAT-related connectivity issues. This could possibly solve the Error code 40200-21001 in Street Fighter 6. If all of that sounds too much for you, don’t worry, just keep reading.

As we said earlier, the solution might be to enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on your router. By enabling this on your router, you can automatically open the required ports for games and applications. To put it simply, it can solve the issue for you! All you have to do is ensure that your NAT type is “Open” and enjoy uninterrupted gameplay with your friends. Just follow the steps given below.

PC

Step 1: Check NAT-Type:

  • On your Windows PC, open the Xbox Networking app and check the displayed NAT-Type. If it shows as “Strict,” you likely have a connectivity issue.

Step 2: Log into Your Router:

  • Open the Command Prompt on your PC and type “ipconfig” to find the Default Gateway IP address.
  • Enter the Default Gateway IP into your browser’s address bar to access the router’s login page.
  • Use the provided login credentials to log into your router.

Step 3: Enable UPnP:

  • Locate the UPnP option in your router’s settings (usually under Security or Port Forwarding).
  • Enable UPnP to allow games and applications to automatically open the necessary ports.

Step 4: Verify NAT-Type:

  • Return to the Xbox Networking app and click “Check Again” to refresh the network status.
  • The NAT-Type should now display as “Open,” indicating successful port opening.

Step 5: Resolve Toredo Errors (If Applicable):

  • If you encounter a Toredo error, click on the “Fix It” button in the Xbox Networking app and follow the instructions to resolve it.

Step 6: Try the game out!:

  • Launch the game and test the connectivity by playing online with your friend.
  • If the NAT-Type remains “Open” and you can play without errors, you’ve successfully resolved the connectivity issue.

Xbox

If you are using an Xbox, follow the steps given below to ensure that your NAT type is open.

  • Begin by pressing the Xbox button on your controller.
  • From the menu that opens up next, Select Profile & System> Settings > General, and finally Network Settings.
  • Here, you will be able to see the NAT Type field, which displays your current NAT type.
  • You have to make sure that the NAT type is set to Open and while you are at it, check for errors like Double NAT detected, etc.

With those steps, you should be able to get rid of the Error Code 40200-21001 in Street Fighter 6. Finally, keep in mind that as of writing this article, there is no official fix, and port forwarding is just a potential workaround that has been working for some. Anyway, that is all for this guide, and for more guides like this, keep visiting Digistatement.
