It’s safe to say that Valve’s Steam Deck has been a huge success for the Washington-headquartered corporation. Although many more gaming PC handhelds have launched since the Deck’s release, it’s the only one that’s been able to establish a more mainstream presence in the larger video gaming community. While the Steam Deck isn’t as powerful as its competitors, like the ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go, it still manages to topple them due to the amazing support Valve continues to provide for the Deck. But that’s not all. Valve just recently announced and launched the Steam Deck OLED, which deservedly has many players hyped. This article will detail everything shipping-related and such.
Although Steam Deck 2 is still years away, according to Valve, the company did hint at doing a refresh of the base Deck. Just like what Nintendo did with the Switch in 2021 with the Nintendo Switch OLED. Like that one, the Steam Deck OLED comes with an OLED screen, among many other improved features. The OLED, in particular, has been a much-desired feature for many fans. And now that it’s finally here, let’s see what the shipping time details are for the USA, UK, Australia, and more.
Steam Deck Oled shipping time for USA, UK, Australia & more
Compared to the launch of the base Steam Deck, Valve came prepared this time around. On the US store page for the new two Steam Deck OLED models, the shipping time is mentioned to be around three to five business days. Just as same as the base ones. As for UK residents, the shipping time was the same as the US ones, but Valve later changed it to 6–10 working/business days for customers who ordered it an hour or so after the launch. EU customers can expect their OLED models to arrive in between 3-5 estimated business days.
Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea customers can get their Steam Deck OLEDs from KOMODO as usual. The KOMODO launch was delayed by a day in Taiwan due to a new certification required for the Deck’s WiFi 6E chip. This has led to the use of the WiFi 6E band on the new Steam Deck OLED being disabled until January 2024. Aside from that, the delivery time for all four regions is a few business days to a few weeks after payment is completed.
The most unfortunate one out of all is Australia, where Valve has yet to launch the Steam Deck and Steam Deck OLED. As such, players will have to once again get their Decks through resellers for a much higher price. The same goes for South Asian and African regions too.
Steam Deck OLED Limited Edition
The Steam Deck OLED Limited Edition is unfortunately only available in the USA and Canada. The first sale ended pretty quickly after the launch, but it’s available once again, although the shipping time has increased from 1-2 weeks to 2-4 weeks. So, if you want it, then get it while you can.
