Bethesda’s space RPG, Starfield, is now up and running. Although it was officially launched on September 6, 2023, Bethesda made the game available early for players who bought the premium edition. Now that it is in everyone’s hands, players can finally play a Bethesda RPG after so many years. The reception around Startfield has been mostly positive, all thanks to Bethesda’s vast experience with RPGs. Like Skyrim, this game is also filled with things to explore and find. There’s just so much to do. Starfield has over 100 star systems and over 1,000 planets. And it is evident that, along your journey, you will come across some magnificent sights that you will want to capture and keep alive in your memory forever. And the game helps you with that in the form of photo mode. But where are the photo mode screenshots stored on your PC?

When playing PC games, players need to come to terms with the fact that sometimes game files might go missing or get corrupted. The reason can range from Windows Defender shenanigans to a virus or malware in the system. Regardless, the best solution for such problems is to simply make a local backup somewhere else in the system. And this also applies to Starfield and its photo mode contents.

One of the best things about PC games is that you can basically access all game files with just a few clicks. And that’s not all. The player is even allowed to tinker with or modify those files however they wish. Starfield is no exception to these two previous statements. Just like you are able to get to the save file location of the game, you are also allowed to access the folder where Photo Mode screenshots are stored.

So, to access it, go to the main screen of your PC and click on File Explorer. Next, select This PC in order to open the C: drive. Inside the C: drive, select the Users folder. In the next window, open the folder with your username. Then keep opening folders, going from Documents to My Games to Starfield. You are now finally in Starfield’s game files. From the myriad of folders and files present, click on Data and then Textures. Here, you can find the Photos folder. This is the one that has all of your in-game images. Open it and get access to all your in-game screenshots. Note that you need to follow the exact path; otherwise, you will be unable to find those images. Here’s the path to the Photo folder that you can copy-paste into the address bar of your File Explorer: C:\Users\(Username)\Documents\MyGames\Starfield\Data\Textures\Photos. (Don’t forget to change the username)

That said, we hope now you know where to look if you are in search of your in-game screenshots that were taken via the game’s photo mode in Starfield. For more such guides, check out DigiStatement. Also, read: Starfield: How to get Sarah Morgan’s Outfit
