How to remove or delete outpost in Starfield

Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield is the latest action/RPG title that’s tailor-made for fans of space exploration and combat games. In the game, players can explore a number of different planetary systems, engage in battle against fierce enemies, complete different quests, and whatnot! With its vast and immersive open world, Starfield has managed to capture the attention of many. Now, in order to elevate the gaming experience even more, players need to understand how to go about certain in-game tasks that would give them an edge. Through our guides, we’ve shared various fixes to different in-game issues and also discussed in-game mechanics in detail. Likewise, in this guide, we’ve shared details on how to remove or delete outposts in Starfield. So, if you are looking for information on the same, here’s everything you need to know.

This much coveted RPG title is currently set for release on September 6, 2023, on multiple platforms, including Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S. How, then, have some players already started playing and trying out the game? Well, Bethesda has released an Early Access edition of the game for players who purchased the Premium Edition. Since the Early Access edition of the game was released only recently, players are still figuring out different in-game functions. So, let’s say you’ve built a base or outpost on one of the in-game planets, but now you’ve changed your mind about it. So, how can you delete or remove it? Let’s find out.

How to Remove/Delete Outpost in Starfield?

How to remove or delete outpost in Starfield

If you plan on expanding your space empire in Starfield, then you’ll have to build bases or outposts on different planets and systems. The outposts are quite useful, as they can serve as fast travel points as well as store several valuable in-game items. However, there’s a catch. One player can only have eight outposts in total. This means you have to plan extensively for how and where to build these outposts in the game. But what if you’ve already built eight outposts and then want to add another in a different location? Well, in that case, you can simply delete an already-built outpost. However, it’s a little confusing for some players, and that’s exactly where we come in.

Removing outposts in the game

So, in order to remove or delete outposts in Starfield, you need to land at the said location and then approach the base. When you interact with the outpost beacon, the Remove Outpost button will pop up. Simply click on this button to remove the outpost completely. If you are on a PC, you can press the R button on your keyboard to initiate the process, whereas controller players need to press the X button.

However, note a few things before you remove an outpost in the game. Firstly, this action is permanent, and you’ll lose the said outpost permanently, so make sure you’ve made your decision properly before you remove the base. Secondly, if you have crew members stationed on these outposts, you have to remove them first. Otherwise, the game won’t allow you to remove the structures. Finally, once you remove the structure, the entire outpost will be deleted, and you will receive a refund for the building costs. With this in mind, you can now remove the outposts in the game.

Well, we hope this guide has provided you with all the information you needed. Stay tuned to DigiStatement for more such gaming-related content. Read More: How to rename ship in Starfield?
