Harvesting beets in Stardew Valley is not a difficult task. However, there’s a defined method for doing it. If you didn’t already know, beets can be grown only during the fall season. If you consume them raw, they will provide a slight energy and health boost. It can also be used to acquire sugar. So, considering their uses, it is essential that you get them in bulk.

How to get

Beets in Stardew Valley can be grown using beet seeds. However, they aren’t available for purchase at the General Store or JojoMart. If you head over to the desert and find the Oasis Shop managed by Sandy, you can purchase beet seeds for 20 g. However, they can also be purchased from the Traveling Cart for 100 to 1000 gold. Well, there are a bunch of beet seeds hidden in the treasure rooms of the Skull Cavern, so it’s worth checking there too. However, do note that this is luck-based and isn’t very reliable. After getting the seeds, you need to plant them in the Fall season. After planting, it takes 6 days to mature into a beet crop. Once mature, you can harvest it and get one beet per harvest.

How to use

Along with consumption, there are other uses for this vegetable. Well, it can be sold for money based on its quality. The base selling price is 100 g. However, the iridium quality sells for 200 g. Another use of this vegetable is to process it to acquire sugar. You can use the mill and get 3x sugar in exchange for a beet. The vegetable can also be used to make recipes, like Vegetable Medley. Lastly, players can gift beets to other villagers. This will improve their relationships with that particular NPC if they like beets.
